New logo. I like that Tinker Bell is making the ampersand with pixie dust.

First look at Peter Pan and Wendy. Good grief, the costumes on this movie suck.

Re: Peter Pan & Wendy (Live-Action)
That's what they all say.
Daniel Hart is writing the score.
Source: https://discussingfilm.net/2021/08/18/c ... ade-healy/Jade Healy is already neck-deep in her next project, Peter Pan and Wendy, another collaboration with director David Lowery. “We’re at the end of it now. My sets are done. I built everything and it’s so fun” she said. “Without saying too much about the film, all I can say is that it’s going to be just the best Peter Pan movie you’ve ever seen. It really is the best Disney remake, I feel pretty confident.”

Source: https://filmmusicinstitute.com/intervie ... el-hart-2/Q: David is next realizing the Neverland of “Peter Pan & Wendy.” What can we expect from this film, and how do you think that “The Green Knight” has influenced it?
Daniel Hart: I think it’s too early to tell. I haven’t seen enough footage yet to know how “The Green Knight” influenced David’s direction, or other behind-the-camera kinds of decisions. Musically speaking, I do feel like I have the freedom to explore a bit more than I might have explored beyond traditional orchestral techniques pre-“Green Knight,” and beyond what I did with the orchestra in “Pete’s Dragon.” And that prospect excites me.

I like that too. It's a nice logo. Unfortunately, the final one will most likely be much blander.Sotiris wrote:New logo. I like that Tinker Bell is making the ampersand with pixie dust.
Here's a more complete version of the same photo in which the full outfits can be seen. Apparently, it was posted on Instagram by one of the makeup artists working on the film, but later deleted. I guess the kerchiefs are not part of the costumes since the makeup crew also wear them. Peter's outfit is not bad, in my opinion, but is Wendy going to wear that during most of the film instead of the nightgown she wears in the original? It looks more like underwear than nightwear to me. I guess they wanted her to wear something that looked like pants and not like a dress in this version because it's more "feminist".Sotiris wrote:First look at Peter Pan and Wendy. Here's also a set photo in which she seems to be wearing the same costume but with a dressing gown over it:

Re: Peter Pan & Wendy (Live-Action)
Thanks for tracking down the source of the photo. What she's wearing does look more like old-timey undergarments than nightwear. I'm assuming another reason they changed it to pants was so it would be easier for the actress to move and partake in action scenes. I don't mind she's wearing pajamas instead of a nightgown, but did they have to make them look so cheap and boring?D82 wrote:Peter's outfit is not bad, in my opinion, but is Wendy going to wear that during most of the film instead of the nightgown she wears in the original? That's a good point. I guess you're right. But I agree; they could've made a more interesting design.Sotiris wrote:I'm assuming another reason they changed it to pants was so it would be easier for the actress to move and partake in action scenes.
Re: Peter Pan & Wendy (Live-Action)
Wow, the costumes are super underwhelming. Meanwhile, the concept art is gorgeous.

Re: Peter Pan & Wendy (Live-Action)
Is the movie still supposed to come out this year? There have been no updates since it finished filming and it wasn't included in this year's slate during the Disney+ Day presentation.

Barrie’s classic tale of a boy who wouldn’t grow up, and the three young siblings he whisks away to the enchanted island of Neverland. The film is expected to be released later this year.

What a dull, unimpressive first look. By the way, did they happen to reveal a release date for this at the shareholders meeting?

As we suspected, the film will be released in 2023. Here's a description of the footage screened at D23:
Source: https://www.slashfilm.com/1001755/peter ... rland-d23/The footage starts off, rather appropriately, with Captain Hook asking, "Tell me, how did you come to Neverland?" We then see Wendy on a windy shore as she encounters the Lost Boys on a cliff — and this time, there are some girls among them. This is even remarked upon with the line, "You're not all boys." Which elicits the response, "So?"
The trio of Darling kids we know from the original animated classic meet Peter Pan in their pajamas and fly off to Neverland from Big Ben, the face of the clock shattering as they take flight from it. Pirates try to shoot them out of the sky with cannons, offering a sense of danger. Hook taunts, "Wendy Moira Angela Darling, where is Peter Pan?" Our hero then jumps in slow motion off a cliff towards a pirate ship floating in the air. Classic stuff! It has somewhat of a "Pirates of the Caribbean" vibe to it.

That poster is very nice.
Like the girls at Pleasure Island in Pinocchio, I like that there are girls among the Lost Boys here.

Re: Peter Pan & Wendy (Live-Action)
I think the poster is boring and I preferred the previous logo. The line about the Lost Boys not being all boys doesn't make sense. It's a wink at the audience and it's cringe-worthy. Why would the stories about Peter Pan and Never Land that Wendy heard be referring to them as The Lost Boys when they are not all boys instead of a gender-neutral moniker like The Lost or The Lost Children?
