ABC Family has the rights to rerun "Smallville" and "JKX: The Jamie Kennedy Experiment" in the fall.
ABC Family will also broadcast holiday specials and Warner Bros. movies, such as "Miss Congeniality," "The Perfect Storm" and "Twister".
Also, it includes a renewal of rights to the sitcom "Full House".
This is great news for ABC Family because, now has the rights to:
7th Heaven
Smallville
JKX:The Jamie Kennedy Experiment
Full House
Family Matters

Okay... Disney fires most of their own talented animators and continues to make deals with outside animation studios.
Disney buys Power Rangers etc, to air on ToonDisney. Meanwhile classic Disney cartoons (like Gummi Bears) stay buried in the vaults.
And of course they're still making deals to finance/distribute live-action films they don't actually have a creative hand in. (ie: Holes, Narnia)
And now this.
Um...
Why isn't Disney... DISNEY anymore?! Why do they keep buying the rights to other films/series instead of nurturing their own talent and developing original projects?! I wouldn't be surprised if this latest announcement means they'll phase out their ABC Family movies. Why put the time, money and effort into creating something new when you can just buy someone else's property, right? Why take a chance developing your own hit series, when you can have guaranteed success re-running somebody else's?
Bah.
Disney...the Play It Safe, Nope, No Imagination Here company.

I like JKX, nice to know it will be on at a more compatible time slot (I hope, that is).

I'm a huge Smallville fan, so this would be good news....except that I already have the S1 DVD and will get the S2 set when it's released so this deal doesn't do me much good.

Same here. I have Smallville Season one on DVD and plan to get season two this year.
