I wanted to take this opportunity to connect with the fellow fans of Hocus Pocus, since it's that time of year again! I have some clips from an old VHS with a compilation of TV spots, interviews and behind-the-scenes footage that you might find interesting. It's such a shame that Disney has done a poor job with DVD releases of Hocus Pocus... no additional content whatsoever.

Well.. lucky for us there's enough content in this post to supplement that! Despite poor video quality lol.

Does anyone have any further insights regarding the deleted scenes? They're featured prominently in the trailers!

these are fantastic! and like yourself i am a bit upset that Disney dropped the ball with the dvd and blu-ray release of this film. It has developed such a cult following and these supplemental features would be great to have.

I had no idea about the "witch" controversy surrounding the film's release.

Oh thanks for posting these! Too bad the makeup and matte paintings videos weren't a lot about Hocus Pocus. It is interesting that real witches were offended by these obviously very different kind of witches. There were real, different kind of witches that worshiped the devil, though. Anyway, it was also interesting to see Robert Stromberg's beginnings before he came to infamously ruin the character of Maleficent!

I'm dying to see all of the deleted scenes from this movie, it seems like there's SO many!

That's too bad :/ I'm always so surprised that Disney World makes such a big deal about Hocus Pocus and includes it in their stage show (24 years after the film's release) and yet they can't seem to see the fan appeal that might merit a special edition DVD??

I went to the Halloween party in Walt Disney World and there’s a cool Hocus Pocus show which I really enjoyed, but they changed the lyrics in “I Put a Spell on You”: instead of “Hell”, they say “Heck” but they say it with the quotes in the air.

Since English is not my first language I’m not getting that joke, can someone explain it to me, please?

Oh, yeah I'll help you! I'm sure you know that hell in English is the place where people go when they die if they've been sinful and never repented, in the Christian religions. But that word is also used as a "bad word" or a "curse word" to just mean something terrible, or even just as a "curse word" to express anger or to punctuate our sentences to give them some power, such as "what the hell?" or "run like hell!" But because it is considered a "bad word" when used in any way other than actually referring to the Christian place, some parents, who don't want children to say curse words, allow the word "heck" to be said by children and they will use it themselves around children to protect them from saying the "bad word". I hope that helped!
