The first single was released yesterday.

I like "Hello." Not as much as the singles from her last album (except for "SFttR," which I wasn't a fan of), but still pretty good and growing on me.

Thoughts?

Thank you, 1 vote. Oh well @ my flop threads. My first impression is that it isn't as good as her last album's best tracks, but more consistent overall. The only track I don't care for is "IMY"; I really got an Aretha vibe from several songs.

Apparently, it's sold 1.9 million copies in its first two days available.... :o With "When We Were Young" being performed on Saturday Night Live*, it'll most likely be the next single. I'd say "Water Under the Bridge"--my personal favorite--and "Send My Love (to Your New Lover)" are sure bets for singles. After that, maybe "Love in the Dark"?

*Speaking of SNL, anyone who wanders into this deserted thread should watch the Thanksgiving dinner skit making fun of the "Hello" video. It was absolutely hilarious.

I finally got my copy from Target in the mail today. I haven't listened to any of the tracks yet, though I've heard Hello and When We Were Young, and like them pretty well.

It'll be pretty difficult to match 21, a personal favorite and one of the best albums of this century, but I'm glad to see it's selling so well. It looks like Barnes & Noble, where I work, has sold quite a few copies (apparently it's the best-selling album B&N's ever sold); I've personally only sold a couple, but all of the music is up at the register and I'm not really up there that much.

I'll probably listen to it in full tonight. I'm pretty glad I got the 3 extra tracks, too, though I'm a bit bummed that it's in a cardboard case rather than a standard CD case.

Oh, and I did see the SNL skit and I thought it was hilarious. I've watched it several times already.

I really like "Hello". I can't remember the few others I listened to enough to remember if I liked them, but maybe I'll listen to them, and some more, and say how I felt about them here, later.

But omg that SNL skit was HILARIOUS!!! Thanks for sharing that!

I listened to all the tracks Divinity mentioned, except the ones I unfortunately only found covers of, "Love In the Dark" and "I Miss You", so I didn't listen to those, oh and I listened to "Million Years Ago". I must say, "Water Under the Bridge" is to me the best one after "Hello".

Yes, I'm hoping "WUtB" is released; it could be the biggest song for her from this album, I think. "Why Do You Love Me" has risen to my second favorite after listening to the album the past two weeks.

Yeah, the Target exclusive was definitely worth it. "Lay Me Down" isn't great (for me), but I love the other two.

I saw some pictures about the CD being put beside alcohol and tissues in some stores. rotfl
