I just spoke with a Disney Movie Club cast member who told me that "Return of Jafar" and "Aladdin and King of Thieves" will be released as a combo pack soon. She assumed in October, but wasn't completely sure. If that's the case I assume the release would be a DMC exclusive, at least initially.

She also mentioned "Escape to Witch Mountain" Blu-Ray would be released soon as well.

Has anyone else heard anything on these titles?

It popped up about a month ago, after the Australian Aladdin trilogy blu-ray was cancelled over 2.5 years ago.

They will be released in Japan on October 21st. Exclusive to the trilogy boxset.http://www.disney.co.jp/studio/animation/1328.html

I called the DMC twice this morning and spoke to two different cast members to see how reliable their information was.

According to the companies widely distributed new release list given to every cast member, the Aladdin sequels double feature pack will be available to order starting October 13th. It will be a DMC exclusive, similar to how "Hercules" and "Tarzan" were available only through DMC initially. They were exclusive for two months, so it's reasonable to assume they could receive a national release by Christmas.

Both "Escape to Witch Mountain" and "Return to Witch Moutain" Blu-rays will also be available to order on that same date.

Good to know. Are there any plans for an Aladdin trilogy box set with Disney Movie Club?

So happy these are coming out, would have loved digital copies of both but guess we can count that out since they are being released as a 2-Movie Collection. Can't wait to see the cover art

Will it be a Blu-ray 1- or 2-pack, with just Blu-rays, or will it be a combo pack, with one Blu-ray and one DVD (like the Disney Animation Studios Shorts Collection)? I'm so excited that the sequels are getting re-released (I sold mine years ago and miss them!)!

Personally I wish Disney would release Aladdin: The Series with this release. Return of Jafar was original the pilot episode for the show anyway and King of Thieves was the end of production film. I'd love to own the part of the story that takes places between these two films!

Can't help but be excited for this release now If only they would alter this ghastly cover and restore Jafar to some dignity

Forget the cover, the fact that they're cropped is a much bigger problem.

You could just contact Disney and ask them to correct the problem.

There is a possibility the blu-ray release will be proper, seeing as the blu-ray and digital copies of the first film are different....but I'm not holding my breath. They are considering this a low-end release so there is no way they will be doing replacements if the blu-rays are the same as the digital versions.

How are the two versions of the first one different?
