At least its not an oval cover like 101 Dalmations and Jungle Book. I wonder who came up with those dumb covers. I have to say, overall, the Diamond Editions turned out poorly. Looked like it was off to a good start with Snow White, with a nice sparkly cover, but then when they started dropping special features, like Grand Canyon on Sleeping Beauty, they should've no longer called this line "Diamond". Glad I got the Platinum of Pinocchio. Would like to track down the Platinum of Sleeping Beauty.

Yeah, they almost certainly won't be using that original logo, plus they'll almost surely be using some of their stock illustrations for the cover.

I was pleasantly surprised by the silver used for 101 Dalmatians. The oval still looks dumb, but it still looks pretty good considering how tacky the gold was. The gold borders never really worked well either--I definitely liked the blue borders best, though I wouldn't mind silver either. The only gold cover that wasn't horrendous was the one for Peter Pan, which was actually quite a nice cover. Shocking coming from Disney, lol.

Yeah and so obviously as well.

I don't mind if they used some of the poster from the 1992 re-release. It's a gorgeous poster.

Yes, that cover-art is fake. Blu-ray.com always uses fan-made covers until a official cover-art is released. :)

Has this been confirmed as the next title after "Aladdin"? This makes me wonder what would be the title that continues the line after "Pinocchio"...The only Disney films from the animated canon, yet, to be released on Blu-ray are the four remaining package films, am I correct? And, I do not see them being regarded as "Diamond" status...do any of you? I was expecting combo-packs either this year or next and probably barebones. Would they merge "Fantasia/Fantasia 2000" into the "Diamond" line?

For the U.S., these titles haven't been released on Blu-ray:

Make Mine Music
Melody Time
The Three Caballeros
Saludos Amigos
The Black Cauldron
Aladdin (not released yet but announced for Fall 2015)

(In 'Search,' this seemed to be the newest thread about Pinocchio...)

So, on JimHillMedia, he posted an article about a Steamboat Willie original draft that was up for sale at an auction. At the bottom of the article is a blurb and a picture of a cel of a (very un-PC) marionette that was cut from the film:

Maybe it was another Fred Moore situation. :P

Someone at the studio had worked really hard on this African marionette and was really sad when it was cut out of the movie. And then Walt Disney came to him and said " Don't you worry, I will let you put a new African character in our next movie!" rotfl

Opps, sorry, when I wrote that I thought it was Fred Moore but it was Ward Kindball I was thinking of.
I was thinking of the time when Ward had spend several months animating the soup scene in Snow White and when it was cut from the movie, Walt Disney said he could be the supervisor animator (I think, correct me if I am wrong) for Jiminy Cricket.

Ohhh ok DisneyBlu I get it. I doubt that was the kind of thing that happened here, though. I can't get over why they ever let an ugly caricature of a black centauress be a slave to beautiful causcasion ones... Walt Disney...wtf?
