I just signed both of them. It would be nice if everyone else who visits here would do the same. If they release this, perhaps more films would be released properly afterwards?

I'd love to sign but can't because I don't have Blu-Ray and only DVD. Can't you make a petition for DVD as well?

Perhaps. However, I don't think signatures alone on the petition will convince Disney. I'm going to need everyone here to please sign and share mine like crazy by any means necessary. Post the link on Facebook, tweet it on Twitter, heck, even share it on DeviantART or tumblr. Share the hell out of it!

And Nala, perhaps if we're lucky enough, they might have the uncut version on the DVD of the combo pack.

My name is Brian Martin, and I'm from Chicago. I have been a huge Disney fan all my life, and I need your help. I started a Facebook page and petition that are part of a campaign to get Disney to release The Black Cauldron fully uncut on Blu-Ray for its 30th anniversary next year. From what I understand, 12 minutes of completed animation and music were cut from the movie by Jeffrey Katzenberg soon before its premiere. Producer Joe Hale and his wife Beverly have already given me their approvals by signing the petition I started, signing another petition started a few days ago by someone else in Ohio, and by writing some messages on my Facebook page. They told me the uncut master negative should be somewhere in the Disney archives. If you are interested, please go to these links to sign the two petitions, like my page, and share them with others!

You saw one of the deleted scenes?! Where?!

I think he's referring to the alternate version of the Fair Folk scene on the 25th Annivesary DVD.

Back when this movie was coming out, I remember seeing a making of on tv that showed how they did the sounds for a scene where there are corpses coming out of the ground. They took rubber gloves filled with cooked macaroni, and would squeeze them out in front of the microphone. anyone else remember this or is it on the bluray?

No. I saw the Army of the Dead scene and was amazing.

What I don´t get is that Pinocchio was a very dark movie. The same goes for scenes from Snow White, Fantasia, Bambi... Not to mention that 80´s movies were dark as well (The Secret of N.I.M.H., The Land Before Time...) . So why, don´t include all those deleted scenes? More so when at this point the movie is targeted at adults/´collectors.

We mean restoring the deleted scenes back into The Black Cauldron and having it released as it was meant to be seen.
