New "Friends and Foes" Feature!

Post by Elladorine »

We've fully enabled the "Friends and Foes" feature, which can be found in your User Control Panel.

It's pretty self-explanatory, just hit your User CP and go to Friends & Foes. Click on Manage Friends to, well . . . manage friends (it basically tells you when they're online). And click on Manage Foes if you ever find you disagree with another member to the point that it would be best to simply ignore their posts.

Either action can be reversed. We hope that this option will help smooth out any potential drama. :)

 at the "Foes" feature.

The thing is, even if I had foes, I would still want to see their posts. :milkbuds:

^All I could think about it was, "I guess my posts are going to be even more ignored than usual."

I like reading your posts, Divinity. :)

I only skip/skim through long posts (yours or others') when I just don't have time, which can happen. But I do try to read posts in their entirety.

Divinity's post are quite a nice read, filled with thought-out opinions; and it's part of the reason why I joined the forums in the first place. :)

Yeah, I like reading everybody's posts. Even ones I disagree with. I know there are people who probably don't like some of mine. (I can be opinionated.) But, I welcome differing opinions as long as they're not overly hostile and infantile. (And, to be honest, I haven't seen too many posts like that on here anyway. It's one of the reasons I quite like the atmosphere here.)

Considering that my only passionate disagreements with people have been over one topic each, I'm not gonna use this feature quite yet.

This is good, but on the internet too many people take it to "only my and my friends opinions matter to me" level.

Well, that's not the case with me. As long as you can explain and argue something rationally and with constructive opinion, then I'll listen. Whether I agree with you is a different matter heh...

Yes! I aggree with that statement 100%! And I'm also on board 100% with Mayhem's statement.

I think argument and disagreement is what makes it fun and gives it some spice, as long as it doesn't get too out of hand, of course! It would be too boring otherwise... hehehe... :P

I'd just like to mention that I've already been using this feature against certain members here that I just know are always going to get after me over 2D animation and my dislike of today's kind of animation, so I have them on my foes list so I don't have to listen to any of them.

I'm more than happy with the addition of this feature here.

And just so you know, 2Disney4Ever, most of us have put you on our foes list because of your inane whining about 2D animation. You need to give it a rest and discuss something else that we all can toss about in the forums.

2D is basically 'dead' and you might as well get over it!

Oh yeah, and you're on there as well for making comments like that one, because I don't need to listen to any of people's spirit-breaking quitter talk that there is absolutely no hope for 2D movies. You can believe that all you want, but don't ever tell me to.

I generally try to keep an open mind and listen to everyone. I can deal with differing opinions. But there's one user in particular that this feature was invented for. Someone who goes on page after page after page repeating themselves ad nauseum.

A lot of users will abuse this feature though, ignoring everyone they have a minor conflict with. Luckly it only hurts them I guess.
