Shirley Temple passes away at 85

She was one of the most beloved actresses in the 1930's and her talent will always live on in some of her most wonderful movies.

I hope TCM will have a fitting retrospective after their 31 Days of Oscar is over. They showed Bright Eyes last month.

One of the 'original' Little Princesses is gone, but will never be forgotten. Her movies are classic, and she was beloved by all who knew her. She is still a Princess to me and our family. We watch our collection of movies starring Miss Temple at least one movie a month. We will probably have our own marathon over this President's Day weekend.

I sometimes wondered what happened to her, since she had long retired from anything related to acting.
Never saw any of her actual films, but I do recall her being caricatured in this cartoon.

Shirley was certainly what the US needed in the 1930's due to the Great Depression.
