Dear Mr. Iger,

I have a proposal for Walt Disney Home Entertainment: to release a brand-new Blu-Ray compilation titled "Cocktail: 25th Anniversary Edition," showcasing the hit 1988 R-rated Disney movie "Cocktail" available I believe on Blu-Ray for the very 1st time.

Released theatrically by Touchstone Pictures on July 29, 1988, "Cocktail" starred Tom Cruise as Bryan Flanagan, a recent college graduate who takes a job as a bartender to make ends meet.

Also appearing in the movie were Bryan Brown & Elisabeth Shue.

Tentatively, Bob, Walt Disney Home Entertainment shall release "Cocktail: 25th Anniversary Edition" on Blu-Ray on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at a cost of $29.99 wherever Blu-Rays are sold, as well as re-brand "Cocktail" under the Walt Disney Pictures label.

Sincerely,
Danny Hooley

Moderator's Note: Given that the title in question has been released, the original name of this thread (Disney Blu-Ray Request: "Cocktail: 25th Anniversary Edition") has been changed as a request is no longer necessary

Touchstone already released Cocktail to Blu-Ray on June 5, 2012, along with The Color of Money. DVDizzy.com reviewed the latter here.

You can also click this link to purchase Cocktail from Amazon.com and support DVDizzy.com/UltimateDisney.com at the same time.

Personally, I wouldn't want either movie under the "Walt Disney Pictures" label. They're much more at home under the adult-minded Touchstone label.

I would prefer if they remastered The Color of Money as the current Blu-Ray transfer is terrible (Cocktail fared better, fortunately). I also would prefer if Disney actually spent some money on extras for both films. They tentatively scheduled Special Edition DVDs for both in 2006, but were never released.
