Elements You'd Like To See In New Disney Parks

I thought this could be an idea; what would people like to see at any future parks Disney could create ? It's a bit of an imagination thread, but you can go on logic from what has been seen in other Disney parks, and how they create their worlds. I don't mean ride creations, but environment elements.

Personally, as a new take on the Fairytale castle at the heart of the park, I would like to see the castle in Tangled take centre stage. It is a pity (though they are all beautiful, I don't mean anything negative in that at all) that the castles are either Sleeping Beauty or Cinderella, bar Triton's palace in DisneySea I think it is ? The castle from the kingdom of Tangled (Korona I think it's called?) looks very different from the traditional castles of other Disney films, which I think could give it a distinct look.

Being able to tour Rapunzel's tower would be lovely; like the Swiss Family Robinson tree house in Disneyland Paris.

Tomorrow Land could take a lot from Wreck It Ralph; you could have an environment where it feels you are inside one of the games from the film.

Pirates could be expanded rather than being a ride; you could take a drink at Tortuga maybe ?! Something cool like that, like a total immersive experience.

Def. face characters for characters who still don't have any. (I'm all for a Kristoff face character. And Tarzan and Jane need to appear more in the parks).

I'd like for a park to exist that it's designed like an specific setting. An Arendelle-themed Disneyland, with Elsa's palace in place of Cinderella Castle, would be beautiful.

And of course I want Beastly Kingdom!! I want unicorns! Fuck Avatar. :D

Having her ice palace would be amazing !!

With Tangled, they took direct inspiration from Fantasyland for the kingdom of Korona, so it could translate really beautifully into being slotted back into 'real life' as it were, and realised as a Kingdom & castle for a new park.

Oh my gosh, just thought, Stitch could be used for Tomorrow Land! COuld have Stitch Live! from Disneyland Paris imported into it, but with a much more themed area. Or, Lilo and Stitch could even work for Adventure Land?

Don't you dare knock Avatar! Give it a chance and reserve judgement until it actually opens and you experience it for yourself!

Plus, you do realize that cursing on this forum is against the rules, right? :x

There are concerns about Avatar Land disneyphilip, as it isn't Disney property; there are plenty of things that Disney has themselves from their own back catalogue that would be beyond amazing if they were given life in the parks. Beastly Kingdom looked superb, and more in keeping with Disney, over having someone else's franchise in the parks.

Those concerns are completely moot, since this is not the first non-Disney franchise to be in a Disney park.

Think about it.

The Muppets, Star Wars and Indiana Jones were all given attractions in Disney parks long before Disney bought the rights to them.

Then there's also things like The Twilight Zone, American Idol, the various non-Disney movies represented in The Great Movie Ride, etc. None of those properties are owned by Disney, yet they have attractions based on them in Disney parks and hardly anyone complains about them.

So, knock it off.

I can't tell if you are being genuine or joking disneyphilip when telling me to 'knock it off'. I sincerely hope it is the latter.

The rides mentioned were created years ago; long before Pixar and other acquisitions. Disney has billions of dollars worth of property they can utilise and use within the parks; there isn't any need for them to focus on another brand that isn't theirs.

Avatar land may be amazing, yes that is completely true. But it doesn't stop the feeling of Disney neglecting their own property, and namely Beastly Kingdom, which from the sketches and planning look amazing.

So I can tell you to 'knock it off' in your justification of wanting an Avatar Land just as much as you can tell me to when explaining the opposite. It isn't nice to do so though, as this is a forum where opinion can be expressed from any view point. One opinion isn't better than the other.

I would be a lot more understanding if they built an attraction based on Avatar, but building an entire land just seems a little extreme, and a huge gamble. All based on only 1 movie so far.

disneyphilip Calm DOWN! Looks like you're having a stroke there with my swearing.

And yes, if it's perfectly valid for you to praise Avatar Land then it's perfectly valid as well for me to criticize it.

I really like the idea of touring Rapunzel's tower. And I do agree that agree that it is a bit alarming to see Disney working with a property that isn't even one of theirs. Something else, I'd like is to see Tiana's Palace become an actual restaurant in New Orleans Square.

I think Tiana's Palace would be a fantastic idea, and would fit perfectly in the already pre-existing setting.

I've mentioned this before, but I think it could be quite an idea to merge both the live action and animated versions of Alice In Wonderland; maybe have it as a mini land of its own? There is certainly enough material for one. You could even call it Underland to tie to the film version.

Gosh and something else; Villains !! They need their own place....maybe they could have the Forbidden Mountain, and have an evil themed area?

Sorry to say I hate the Burton version of Wonderland. I'd rather see OnceWonderland in the the parks before Underland but I love Once Upon A time. And as for the villains, I do think there was at one point plans for a villain ride for Studios.

I haven't seen Once Wonderland as it hadn't aired here yet, but that did give me a thought for Once being featured in the parks somewhere!! Could that ever be done I wonder?!

The best way to bring Once into the parks would probably to do a Behind The Scenes look at props and costumes at California Adventure/Hollywood Studios.

You could have environments though? Like the Charmings castle or Regina's palace?

Oh my gosh, or on Main Street, tucked away in a hidden corner... Mr Golds shop!! Now that would be amazing. And inside, could be Disney props and things from the movies! Like Jack Sparrows compass, Mary Poppins umbrella, Ursula's necklace....things like that!

Okay, that is an awesome idea. I would so love to go to Gold's shop.

And I don't want it as an actual buying and selling stuff shop (Disney bleeds us dry enough already!) but almost like …. a museum maybe ? Of past Disney films.

I would love it if Disney took ideas for themeing for the parks …. they could never get rid of me!

That is a really god idea.

I'd like maybe more rides with animatronics...REALISTIC animatronics, like the Pirates...Dunno what would the story be about. I'd say a horror ride, but we already have the Haunted Mansion...I guess you can always "up-horror" it.

I would adore this. It could be like Disneyland's response to Be Our Guest in New Fantasyland. There could be jazz shows at certain times, sort of like the Golden Horseshoe. Maybe they could keep a quick service window too, so that people waiting for Fantasmic! could get some fast food. They'd have to take out Cafe Orleans and maybe some other things, but it would be so worth it.

I don't even like OUAT, but I could get on board with this.

disneyphilip, a big difference with Avatarland is that Disney's never had an entire land devoted to a non-Disney property (to my knowledge, at least). There are a handful of Pixar lands, but Pixar is much more integrated with Disney than any other Disney-owned company is. Avatar may have made zillions at the box office, but I've found that lots of people (including me) hate it. Almost everyone has an opinion on it, since so many people saw it. I can't see the sequel doing nearly as well, which makes me wonder why Disney is so gung-ho about it. It's not as family friendly as most Disney properties are, and it doesn't feel as enduring to me. I do appreciate that the message is in line with Animal Kingdom, but otherwise it doesn't seem like a good fit. There are better options, like Beastly Kingdom, if we're going the fantastical route, or another continent, if we're going to roll with the rest of the park's theming.

I don't think it's too early at all to criticise Avatarland. After all, it's already in development, and we've seen concept art of several attractions. If you support it, that's fine too, but everyone should get their own opinion.
