Luke-
I read your review for Star Trek Into Darkness and noticed that you were confused by the connection between Into Darkness and the charity "The Mission Continues," so let me explain.
The Mission Continues is a charity that helps military veterans re-adjust to civilian life while helping to solve some of society's most pressing problems. Four veterans supported by the charity--Eric Greitens (who actually founded the charity), Adam McGann, John Orvasky and Melissa Steinman--appeared in the film as 4 of the 6 members of the Starfleet ceremonial guard who folded the Federation flag during the memorial service at the end of the film.
Here's an article TrekMovie.com did on the charity and Into Darkness' dedication to post-9/11 veterans.
