Northern Exposure S1, as you probably know, has been announced for a May 25 release date.

But the artwork has been released. How frickin' cool is this?

Awesome. Northern Exposure is my all-time favorite television show. I've been looking forward to the DVD, a lot, ever since it was announced. Even more so, now! That's a great cover. I can't wait!

I could have used another word, but I didn't want to offend the very sensitive people here :)

That's an awesome cover, no doubt. I remember watching the show once and a while, but I can't remember if I liked it or not.

Amazing! It will revolutionize the dvd industry! I cannot wait for the "Home on The Range" dvd to come out with real cow hide cover.

I'm a party pooper...don't like it at all.
IMO it's completely unnecessary and I'm sure is one of the reasons why this set is a bit more expensive. From a practical standpoint how does that set fit on your shelves or stands?

Practical? Who needs practical when you have two discs packaged in a collectible parka?

I take your point though - and they are very expensive. I'm not sure why either - the first season is quite short, and I don't think it is just the cover.
2099net pointed out to me that the Quantum Leap discs are quite expensive, and that may because of clearing the music rights. Who knows - the same issue could be at stake here? They are at the same price point.

At any rate, will still purchase, but it IS an bit extravagant.
