Deadline has confirmed that Dreamworks Animation will make the announcement during Fox's panel on Thursday that they will be doing a animated sequel for The Croods. The movie since it's March release is approaching over $400 million for it's worldwide box office. It's also the first film in Dreamworks Animation new distribution deal with Fox.

I'm not sure if it's a good thing or not (I haven't seen Croods yet), but at least they've survived RotG's low take-in.

As long as Chris Sanders is aboard, I'm looking forward to it.

It's sad that DreamWorks (and Hollywood in general for that matter) can't have a financially successful film without turning it into a franchise.

That is unfortunate, but if they keep the quality up, I'll keep watching them.

I do wish Chris Sanders was allowed to develop a project from the start again, like with Lilo & Stitch. He inherited both Dragon and Croods from other directors.

They don't even let people finish digesting the first film without shoving sequels into their faces.

To be fair, 90% of moviegoers won't know about this for at least another year, long after they digested e first one.
