Leslie Iwerks, granddaughter of Mickey Mouse co-creator Ub Iwerks, has started work on a Disney-commissioned documentary about its Imagineering division.

Iwerks revealed the project Friday at Hearst Castle at the West Coast premiere of her documentary “Citizen Hearst.”

I would love to see that made. I thought her documentary "The Pixar Story" was fantastic.

The long-gestating film has been turned into a TV series for Disney Plus.

The documentary series chronicles the 65+ year history of Walt Disney Imagineering with parallel storylines of the people, the craft, and the business. Created by director and producer Leslie Iwerks, the series includes exclusive interviews and never-before-seen footage from Disney’s parks around the world. The series is produced by Iwerks & Co. and directed by Leslie Iwerks.
