For my piano recital, I get to play two songs. I want one of them to be Disney, but I can't decide which one! Which one should I play?
This is Halloween-The Nightmare Before Christmas
Jack's Lament-The Nightmare Before Christmas
Finale/Reprise-The Nightmare Before Christmas
Poor Jack-The Nightmare Before Christmas
The Bells of Notre Dame-The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Out There-The Hunchback of Notre Dame
One Jump Ahead-Aladdin
Prince Ali-Aladdin
Prince Ali (Reprise)-Aladdin
Honor to Us All-Mulan
I'll Make a Man Out of You-Mulan
Hikari(Simple and Clean)-Kingdom Hearts
Belle-Beauty and the Beast
Gaston-Beauty and the Beast
Part of Your World-The Little Mermaid
...I just can't decide!

I don't know, I was thinking Part of Your World is a little old school, and cringe-worthy if done outside the context of the film (sorry, bad school memory of 'A Whole New World' flashback...don't want the same happening to you...).
Although I really do like the song - it could sound nice just on piano.
The Nightmare Before Christmas - if it was October, I'd say go for those...but maybe you want to target your audience a bit more...
Actually, the more I think about it -
Part of Your World. I think it would sound really neat on piano.

Well, there are only two recitals in a year. For the Christmas one, we have to play Christmas music. For the Spring one, we can play whatever we want, so my only chance to play songs from The Nightmare Before Christmas is during Spring.

I used to play piano and have several books of Disney sheet music, so I've played a lot of these. I would pick "Part Of Your World", it sounds nice on piano. However, the most beautiful Disney songs to play on piano, imo, are "A Whole New World" and "Candle On The Water."

What's "Candle on the Water" from?
Anywho, I'd play "Part of your World". If I could choose any D songs, they would be "Hakuna Matata" or "A Whole New World".

. Sung by Helen Reddy, nominated for Best Original Song Oscar. It's a beautiful song with beautiful lyrics, especially in context with the film. I encourage you to watch the movie if you haven't seen it, or at least hear the song.

I find it kind of amusing how some of you are picking songs that aren't even on the list.
First of all, I played "A Whole New World" last year, so I can't play that one. Second of all, I do have sheet music for "Candle on the Water", but it is simplified and a little to easy for me now. So, I can't play that one either.
It looks like "Part of Your World" is going to be the one I play. That's also the easiest song. I also find that kind of amusing.
As for the second song...hmm, I wasn't planning on making it a Disney song, but maybe I should.

I'd play Honor to Us All or I'll Make a Man Out of You from Mulan. Mulan is one of my favorite Disney movies. Too bad you don't have any sheet music from Emperor's New Groove. Another one of my favorites.

That's too bad. You can order the real Candle on the Water sheet music, by itself, in a Disney collection book, or in the Pete's Dragon sheet music book

What's This is the best from NBC, imo

. I like all the songs in that movie, but I don't think any of them would make for a stunning piano solo performance.
