Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001)
Lilo & Stitch (2002)
Treasure Planet (2002)
Brother Bear (2003)
Home on the Range (2004)

Meet the Robinsons (2007)
Bolt (2008)
The Princess and the Frog (2009)
Tangled (2010)

I'll post my ranking later, but it'll be hard deciding what belongs at the bottom. I personally think the tide began to turn with Meet the Robinsons.

Fantasia 2000 premiered in December of 1999. :P

That's why I didn't include it.

I know that. I'm counting the release date of a film by its wide release and not by the limited release.

I was referring to Disney's Divinity, not you.

Ah, I see. I've always considered it a 1999 film, seeing as that's the year of release, despite being limited. Works either way, because it was obviously 'designed' to be the first film of the new millennium.

Excellent thread idea. I have yet to see Wreck-It Ralph, so cannot include it in my rankings.

1. Lilo & Stitch
2. Tangled
3. The Emperor's New Groove
4. The Princess and the Frog
5. Treasure Planet
6. Atlantis: The Lost Empire
7. Meet the Robinsons
8. Dinosaur
9. Bolt
10. Brother Bear
11. Home on the Range
12. Chicken Little

Lilo & Stitch is easily - and probably always will be - the best 21st Century DAC for me. It's a dazzlingly original and quirky concept: a sci-fi story about the importance of family, set mostly in Hawaii, with Elvis Presley songs being a salient feature. Lilo and Nani's relationship is one of the most convincing Disney has ever done, much more interesting than the usual stepmother/princess relationships, and Lilo is a masterful piece of characterisation. Brushing away the lazy portrayals of cutesy or cheeky child characters, in Lilo we finally get both a compelling AND a realistic child character wrapped into one. She's realistically temperate and selfish, but her loneliness and the rejection from her peers makes her someone who is easy to empathise with. Stitch is a simultaneously hilarious and adorable creation. Jumbaa and Pleakley are one of the funniest and most off-the-wall comic relief double acts in Disney animation. The animation style is unique, like many of the early 21st Century animation styles in DACs, but its original style suits both humans and the aliens excellently.

Tangled is a flawed movie; it suffers from mediocre songs and insufferably DreamWorks-esque character animation at times, and Rapunzel and Flynn could be unkindly (yet understandably) looked upon as a poor man's Ariel and Aladdin. However, it works. There's chemistry and a developing arc between Rapunzel and Flynn, the plot is well-devised and structured and while the humour misses the mark for me, I found it thrilling, suspenseful and even touching. Emperor's New Groove is obviously better-than-average for its comedy alone, and I love Yzma and Kronk. Any problems I find with the main characters - maybe Pacha is too bland at times, and Kuzco can be too irritating - are made up for by the superlative antagonists. Princess and the Frog and Treasure Planet are evenly so-so in my view. They both feature frequently superb animation, and they succeed in developing/refining their protagonists and antagonists (I prefer Facilier to Silver because of his song, whereas I like Jim more than Tiana because of his backstory). However, they both fail when it comes to comic relief and both films would have been improved immensely if certain characters were removed. Meet the Robinsons gains points for an intriguing villain and an equally intriguing plot, but the weak middle act and mostly appalling jokes ruin it.

The other five DACs are uniformly bad and I loathe the lot of them. Ranking the least appalling to the most appalling was difficult, but I do seem to have managed it as best I can.

I agree with this. I mainly love TP&TF and TP for their protagonists, villains, and maybe a few other characters (mainly Naveen, Charlotte, and Ray from TP&TF; nobody else from TP though. :P ). They are my favorite Disney characters so far since the turn of the century. The only other characters I can think of that I like as much are Yzma and Kronk from TENG (they make that movie, let's be honest), The Bowler Hat Guy, Vanellope von Schweetz, Rapunzel, and Nani. There is so much that is messy about both those films, so I don't mind the criticisms.

While Tangled does work better as a film, I find it bland for the most part. Nothing stands out as particularly special or memorable for me, and that's worse than being generally awful with some stand-out moments for me. I can understand why Lilo & Stitch is well-liked, but I've never been that enamored with it, personally. I don't dislike it though, it has a few nice characters.

I actually think Atlantis had a lot of potential if it had allowed it's characters to breathe, because several of them seem interesting, though they're unexplored/undeveloped for the most part. The only one that gets much attention (Milo) is the most boring one of the bunch. But I'm very surprised by the hate Dinosaur often gets online. It's not a great or original movie, no, and not nearly as epic as the trailers promised, but I enjoy it for the most part. None of the characters are destined to become a favorite, but none of them don't work if that makes sense. I actually liked that they had two elderly (women!) characters in this movie, and I love Della Reese, too. I might be too kind on it because I grew up in love with The Land Before Time.

I don't come on here a lot, but I saw this thread and just had to post my ranking. I feel like I'm going to get a lot of flack for my list, but I'm going by what movies I enjoy most and not by quality so here we go:
1.) Meet the Robinsons (yeah, really :P)
2.) Wreck-It Ralph
3.) Atlantis: The Lost Empire
4.) Treasure Planet
5.) Brother Bear
6.) Lilo and Stitch
7.) Tangled
8.) The Princess and the Frog
9.) The Emperor's New Groove
10.) Dinosaur
11.) Bolt
12.) Chicken Little
13.) Winnie the Pooh
14.) Fantasia 2000
15.) Home on the Range
Again, I have 0% shame, as I'm ranking in terms of what I enjoy.
