Question: When did Disney tv Animation start shooting their shows in widescreen?

It was my understanding that this practice did not start until "Kim Possible" in the middle of the 2000's. Shows like "House of Mouse," "Buzz Lightyear of Star Command," "Jungle Cubs" and "The Weekenders" were originally shot in fullscreen. Am I right?

If someone who knows could share any insight on this and preferably not use Wikipedia as their source, that would be awesome. Thanks! I'm trying to get to the bottom of this issue.

I can't give you a year but Tarzan: The Series is available in widescreen however Fillmore! isn't. I also think I saw House of Mouse in widescreen once, too. But I'm not sure on that, it may be that I'm referring to one of the movie specials.

I believe House Of Mouse was made in widescreen. On relation to the topic, when it came to the Mickey Mouse Works shorts, I think a batch was made in widescreen while another batch was made in full screen. I oughta know, because Donald's Rocket Ruckus was made in full screen but was matted for the House Of Mouse (I watched one and the other).

Most cartoons were produce in 1080 since the late 90s early 00s. For an example House of Mouse used to broadcast in 1080i in the UK. But Recess was only made in 4:3 where Lloyd in Space was produce in 1080 and it was made by the same creators which was odd.

A couple of the Mickey Mouse Works shorts were even shown theatrically. I remember seeing a Pluto cartoon in front of My Favourite Martian (don't worry, I'm still apologising to my parents for asking to see that piece of crud).

Maybe it's just poor staging but a lot of the characters actions are being cut off on the sides in that short. I have no other evidence to back this up but I believe Donald's Rocket Ruckus was produced in widescreen. I just watched the short on youtube in 4x3 and when it zooms out at the end to show the House of Mouse stage, the added artwork from the sides is visible. I thought I read somewhere that all of the House of Mouse shorts were produced in HD widescreen with potential theatrical release in mind.
