I know this is old news, but since no one is talking about it here, there are probably a fair share of people who don't know yet.

On January 9 of this year, George Kalogridis, the former president of Disneyland Resort, was appointed the new president of Walt Disney World. He's taken Meg Crofton's place, since she was promoted to president of all Disney parks. The change went into effect on February 1st.

The new president of Disneyland Resort is Michael Colglazier, formerly the VP of Disney's Animal Kingdom. Josh D'Amaro, the previous head of Adventures by Disney, has taken his place as Animal Kingdom VP.

What does everyone think about this?

Presume this is all to do with Tony Baxter leaving ?

I don't think it has anything to do with it, since Tony Baxter announced his resignation on January 31. The change in management was already scheduled as of January 9. I don't really know that much about it though. Is his resignation expected to change a lot?

I don't want to be part of the pessimist group, but I hope not.

How directly involved was he with the parks? I watched an interview with him talking about making the queues more interactive, Haunted Mansion in particular, so I know he was involved in that.

I just looked up his Wikipedia profile , and here's a list of some of the things he worked on. Pretty good stuff. I'd definitely consider him crucial to the imagineering world.
