North Korea launched a multistage rocket Wednesday that, according to initial reports, traveled the entire distance of a projected course, making it potentially the most successful of the country's five attempts at long-range missile technology.

The rocket, launched shortly before 10 a.m. local time, flew south over the Yellow Sea, East China Sea and the Philippines, according to Japanese military authorities who tracked it closely because of the potential threat it posed to its Okinawa prefecture.

North Korea issued a brief statement saying the rocket successfully launched a satellite into space. The claim couldn't be immediately confirmed. Other countries saw the launch as a cover for a test of long-range missile technology and urged Pyongyang to call it off.

The U.S. State Department declined to comment. But U.S. officials have been closing monitoring Pyongyang's preparations in recent weeks worried about the national-security and diplomatic implications. Financial markets in Asia showed little reaction to the launch.

If you been paying attention to foreign affairs you would realize and know by now that North Korea has nothing but a embarrassing joke. Even fucking China starting want nothing to do with them. They only support them because they are used by China as a buffer zone to keep South Korea, an ally of USA, away.
