Welcome to the 9th Annual DVDizzy.com Forum, Website & Member Awards! Boy, that's a mouthful.

It's that time of the year again! And by that I mean a vague sometime in the fall since the date of this event has become as consistent as Disney's home video release schedule.

Last year's host has passed hosting duties on to me. I'm the fourth host in the history of the awards - AwallaceUNC was the first, Escapay was the second, SpringHeelJack was the third - and I sincerely hope I live up to the great work they've done in the past.

Well, let's get right to it!

Rules & Guidelines

• Anyone who is a member can vote regardless of the date they registered or the number of posts they have made.

• Participants may submit up to FIVE nominations in each of the categories that appear below.

• It is not required to vote in all categories but please try to since the very existence of these categories depends on your nomination votes.

• Nominations must be emailed to dvdizzyforumawards@yahoo.com to be valid. No PMs accepted.

• You must make "9th Annual Forum Nominations" the subject line of your email submission. You also need to state your username in your email.

• You may not nominate yourself for anything, nor can you nominate a thread that you authored.

• Needless to say, all submissions will remain confidential. Please do not post anything about who/what you are nominating in this thread.

• Since the timeline has shifted a little, this year we define "Of The Year" as November 1, 2011 - November 24, 2012. Only reviews, threads etc. posted in that time frame are eligible. Everyone is encouraged to consider the full eligibility period and not just the most recent couple of months for their nominations.

• After they have been sent and tabulated, the official nominations will be posted in a new thread in the Off-Topic section for you to vote on. The number of final nominees selected for each category will vary, depending on the numbers received, though the goal is always 3-5 for each.

Avatar of the Year (submit members and attach the specific avatars you're nominating)

Signature of the Year (submit members and attach the specific signatures you're nominating)

Forum Section of the Year (Disney Discussion, Off-Topic, etc)

DVDizzy.com Blu-ray/DVD Review of the Year [Disney Films] (it includes short film compilations, TV films, and TV specials).

DVDizzy.com Blu-ray/DVD Review of the Year [Non-Disney Films] (it includes short film compilations, TV films, and TV specials).

DVDizzy.com Blu-ray/DVD Review of the Year [TV Series]

Topic/Thread of the Year

Poll/Game of the Year

Website/Message Board Event or News of the Year

Funniest Member

Kindest Member (friendly, thoughtful, etc)

Most Intelligent Member

Most Informative Member

Most Creative Member (artistic, imaginative, etc)

Newbie of the Year (submit members who registered between 11/01/11 and 11/24/12)

Super Sophomore (submit members who registered between 05/31/10 and 10/31/11)

Ultimate Member of the Year

Additionally, there may also be at least one honorary award given to a member in a special category. You may submit any ideas, suggestions, or nominations for this as well.


Fixed Category

The following category has less eligible contenders than the minimum allowed nominated, and so they are automatically nominated.

Please send in your nominations by Sunday, December 09, at 11:59 PM EST. Keep time difference in mind.

I've only received 2 email submissions so far. Could more people participate please? There can't be any nominations if there are not enough votes.

I started working on this the day you posted. I'm just taking a little time on some of the categories.

That's fine. I'm just a little worried because participation seems lower this year.

I forgot to add a nomination for a signature, is it too late to an additional entry even though I've sent my email already?

No, it's not too late. Just send another email.

I've received your email and everything is fine.

ANNOUNCEMENT: I've decided to extend the deadline for submissions to Sunday, December 09 due to lack of participation.

Last year there were 15-20 submissions for the nomination process but this year there have been only three. That's right. Just THREE. If more people don't vote I will be forced to cancel the awards.

I don't know why more people aren't participating this year but it's a real shame. This has been a great, fun tradition in this community and it would be unfortunate if it had to end in such a manner.

So, please pass on this message, PM or email fellow members and urge them to vote.
