Disney's "Electric Holiday" short

Disney and Barney's New York present a nice, little 'fashion' short.
Watch as Minnie embarks on a fantastical fashion adventure in Paris, where she walks the runway in Lanvin and rubs elbows with fashion-world figures like Linda Evangelista, Daphne Guinness, Naomi Campbell, Lady Gaga and many more. If you ask us, it's the perfect combination of wit, fantasy and style with which to ring in the holidays!

I'm glad Disney released the full short online. Could it be because of the controversy?
I like it. It would be nice if it had more cameos of Disney characters though.

I like the beginning and end, but I didn't like the runway scene. It was jarring to see Minnie, and then the others, get transformed. Why did Tiana and Snow White need to be changed. They're thin enough already.

So, is this an 'official' Disney short?

If Walt has not already been rolling in his grave by now, this will be the thing that get it going! I was horrified by the whole thing! Mixing fashion with Disney, what a joke!

I don't often agree with you, Milo, but I definitely agree with you on this. I have an immense distaste for the fashion industry, as I find it to not only be a waste of millions of dollars, but also presents really terrible images to women about what they should be like. So I really did not like this short whatsoever.

I feel so unclean watching this. I do not want to see my childhood icons being reduced to this. I will admit that the animation at the beginning is not too bad but i had to stop at the runway scene. I mean just...EWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!

That is bad. The animation of the Characters was good but putting snobbery brands into this is just so wrong and the transformation scene wtf!

I dislike how they froze every time they showed a cameo, whether it'd be Disney or a real person. It became kinda... self-appraising rather than cool and fun.

That was awesome. Strange, but awesome. I know, it may not help to get rid of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, but hey, it's a start.

It depends on what you consider official. The short was produced by the Special Projects division of WDAS and animated at Duncan Studio.

There's a new fashion collection called
Minnie Muse that also features a tall and skinny Minnie Mouse.

Well that was offensive to all my senses.
WTF was that? What a waste of time, space, money and energy.

The runway part was so trippy. The expression on my face while watching that part must have been funny.

She doesn't have long hair. You're seeing ribbons attached to her collar that look like highlights on long hair (I thought I did see long hair till I examined it more). I wish she did have long hair for that one moment because she'd look quite pretty with it.

This felt like some kind of fanboy made cartoon to me. And the runway section was creepy to me in a furry kind of way.

What has this have to do with the Disney characters? Makes me sad to think about all the Disney animation that could have been made and all the ways Disney could have used all their classic characters in new short films, and this is how they wish to portray them. Disney animation is in a sad state indeed.
