Open Vault Disney and our “Walt-era” arm, The Wonderful World of Walt Disney is going to be petitioning the Disney Movie Club for new Walt-era titles this Friday, November 16, 2012! But we need your help!

Here is what we are asking:

1.) On Friday (11/16/12), please visit the Disney Movie Club’s official Facebook page.

2.) Then, please write a short comment asking for no more than 3 “Walt-era” titles you’d like to see them release. It is VERY important you limited it to just 3 titles this time as long lists won’t be taken as seriously and probably won’t be looked at as closely. Don’t worry, we’ll do this again.

3.) Make sure you mention that The Wonderful Word of Walt Disney and/ or Open Vault Disney sent you. Please be nice in the comment.

4.) And that it is! For extra, please share this event with friends and family. If it does well enough, we’ll do this again soon.

THANKS! Let’s go out there and fight for more Walt-era titles on DVD. Let’s make sure future generations are able to fully enjoy the genius that was Walt Disney.

If you are not on Facebook, then please instead e-mail the DMC Member Advocate, Priscilla Porter, here at memberadvocate@movieclubinfo.com, and let her know what up to three titles you want to see. Please be specific with titles and include dates. My experience is that while she means well, Priscilla doesn’t know every Disney titles and could use all the help she can get to know the exact title(s) you want to see released. Thanks!

Sadly, there were not very many who joined us. We are running a similar campaign today for Disney Afternoon shows, and that one seems to be going a lot better so far. In all honesty, despite my trying, We seem to have more support from fans of Disney Afternoon-era titles then I do Walt-era. Could it be issues of differences in the generations? I have some ideas that are forming, but either way, we need more help from baby-boomers if the unreleased Walt-era titles are to be properly fought for.

I have an update. I just went to the Disney Movie Club's Facebook page after I posted my last post in the Disney Afternoon thread like this one, to share what titles I'd like to see released in connection to the Disney Afternoon version of this campaign activity. Imagine my surprise and delight to see not only did we COVER their wall with requests, but it caused the Disney Movie Club to make a special post on Facebook post noting our efforts and comments posted.

Please, please, please, if you have not yet joined us, do so. At this point, it's ok to share requests for whatever you'd like to see that has not yet been released from the Disney vault. Post on their wall if you are on Facebook, or e-mail them if you are not. Thanks guys, I'm VERY excited by what has happened today, and many of you were part of it!
