Will Merida Ever Find Her Prince?

Hi y'all,
Since I've been hearing rumors that Merida might become an official Disney Princess, but what really concerns me that she doesn't have her own prince. Brave is a great movie and Merida is a great character. It just that I don't know she could be an official princess without a love interest. But if she is, do you guys think that maybe she'll ever find her true love? Like if maybe that might do sequel of it in the future. What do you guys think?

I think her lack of a prince was a big part of Pixar's attempt at making her "fresh and modern." I don't think her lack of a prince will be too big of an issue in Disney Princess merchandise, as many of the princes kind of take a back seat anyway.

What does she need a man for when she has a huge beautiful stallion she rides everywhere? (Get your minds out of the gutter!

A prince isn't really all that necessary.

In a early version, Merida was getting married with the son of the Lord MacGuffin, but they eliminated that part to give the story a modern twist, you know, the princess doesn't need a prince. I think that its the right decision.

I hope not.
In other news, Merida is definitely becoming a princess. The company I work for has an entire month of promotion planned around it.

May.

EDIT: I guess I should say, we're advertising in May.

Well, this is kind of hard for me to understand, but you know what? I'll do my best to get use to it. But I still love the movie. The movie is great.

No, she's a sassy Scottish Princess who don't need no man.

I don’t think she needs a prince to be in the DP line. But, from the perspective of the story, unless she’s asexual, I think she would be happier with some form of love interest.

Even after that moment when Lord Dingwell presents his son but she thinks it's that big muscular guy and has that expression of "Woah!" ?

I swear she was going to marry the blonde short guy kissing her hand at the end. Either way she's going to let someone win her love as she announced earlier.

She doesn't need a man, but she could use a more defined personality.

If they gave her a love interest, it would go against one of the main messages of the story of her not being ready to marry somebody yet. I was so happy she didn't form a romance with one of the Lord's sons.

If there happens to be a Brave short film, say a Christmas/Holiday special, I can picture it like this: The young lords compete for Merida's attention. She pretends not to notice them, but then beats them at their own game in the end.

I apologize, I didn't mean the story in the first film which I haven't seen yet, but beyond (and there's little doubt there'll be a sequel to this somewhere down the line

). Unless the character wants to live her entire life celibate, I'm sure she'd be happier with some form of love interest at some point.
