Well, that would explain the 3 DE's a year fiasco...
I'm enjoying all this confusion, it's exciting

I was under the impression that Aladdin was a DE and Peter Pan wasn't. For all we know, maybe all physical media was cancelled and went to streaming.

I like this excitement as well. Aladdin just wasn't meant to be released in spring.

But hasn't Agrabah appeared more times than Neverland in Kingdom Hearts? I thought that was how the Diamond line was now being decided.

Peter Pan has been removed from the Diamond line as it stands.
It isn't being labelled as anything at all in the UK.

In one of the other threads wasn't Peter Pan set for Feb. and Aladdin April? So it still will be a Spring release and who's to say Peter Pan will be a Diamond release in Feb. when everyone else is just getting it as a standard release. Aladdin is probably still Diamond, just released later than usual perhaps.

No, I'm not that stupid haha...merely pointing out the crumbling foundations of the Diamond Edition selection process. Maybe Disney is being politically correct and orchestrating a release schedule where every DAC is 'special'...cue the 'Socialist Edition'

They are just doing what they darn well like basically.
The 'Diamond' title means nothing anyway; all of them are ending up inferior releases to their Platinum counterparts anyway.
The only recent release that I felt was any good, as was a special 'Special Edition' was Alice In Wonderland from last year.

They've been getting lazier and lazier with their releases... I remember when Snow White and Sleeping Beauty were first rolling out and how EXCITING it was, blu-ray, this new, untapped format, with the potential for SO MUCH supplemental material. I mean, compared to DVD, you have so much more room for special features. And it looked like they were going to go all out on each release. Now you're lucky if you even get a lame old 'making of' from the 90s attached as a special feature.
Frankly, at this point, I don't care if Aladdin is Diamond or not, as long as I get a spectacular transfer that isn't screwed with. I have my Platinum edition DVD for the special features. Sad as it is to have to consign ourselves to just hoping for good audio and visual quality, it's the best we have to look forward to from these sub-par releases.
Oh, things do not bode well for Hunchback... It makes me want to cry.

I think the attitude to adopt is simply to be thankful that it is being released at all on Blu ray. That's what I am trying to do.

Hmm...interesting indeed. If PP will indeed be a Diamond in the US....what will Europe's next Diamond be?
And for the US, does that mean Aladdin is next fall's release, meaning TLM will be released in 2014, or will there, indeed, be 3 Diamond Editions next year? February-June-October....
I actually hope Aladdin will still be a Diamond, not that it means anything, but still.

I hope Aladdin makes it! It's my favorite.
Though I'm still hoping for Aladdin 3D.
