and I do agree with the article that disney is handling releasing their classic animated shorts. However, I wish they would do that with the three edited movies. However, Disney is also working on that Issue because Roy said that he will try his hardest to get them uncensored for their next release!

Not only was "The Three Little Pigs" on the Silly Symphonies tin edited, but "Clock Cleaners" on the Mickey in Living Color tin is also changed... Donald Duck sounds as if he is saying/quacking, "F--- YOU!" in the original short. This was dubbed over with obvious non-abrasive grumblings from Donald in the remake. If you want the original "Clock Cleaners," with its more risque Donald caterwalling, it is on the Alice in Wonderland Archive LaserDisc Box Set.

BTW, I HAVE the original cut of "The Three Little Pigs." The jewish salesman was a hoot (in a very un-PC way, that is).

I do not agree with editing the cartoons and such, atleast not w/o allowing for the original to be seen on the same dvd, or video. (ex: PIGS) However, I have no problem with them reducing/ removing the breasts in the pixar thing. I do not think they were needed to make the girls appealing and I think that only the horndog males of society are the ones who are upset about it. I am a 17 year old male myself and think the cartoon is better for it. However I think the original should be available to be viewed.

I believe so, but it does sound like, "F--- YOU." So much so that Disney dubbed over that part with different dialog. Since most of my DVDs are in storage at the moment (I'm moving soon), I cannot remember what the new dub is.

It is always good to see Disney's censorship being reported. As y'all probably know from my posts, it is something I feel strongly about.
I hope the continual newspaper reports on this will finally force Disney to release uncensored versions of their classics.

"These films need to be treated like classic films, not kids' fodder," says Beck, editor of cartoonresearch.com and author of the upcoming book Outlaw Animation. "Would they cut a frame from The Wizard of Oz or Citizen Kane? No."

I think that sums it up better than I could. It applies equally to the shorts and Song of the South.
Unfortunately, in our infinite modern wisdom, we choose to cater to the voices of the few who complain, rather than the few who can appreciate these things as classics, albeit products of their time.

On a side note, it is interesting that the Pixar site - which has a number of their shorts available for download - only allows you to 'Watch a Sneak Peek' of Knick Knack, whereas the other pages allow you to watch the entire short. Was this done before or after this article I wonder?

KNICK KNACK is available to download uncensored on the Internet. There is nothing wrong with the short. If Disney had to censor the thing, they just shouldn't have released it at all...

I believe that this is the only disc (PILA-1408) that you can get the entire short completely unedited (the editing was requested by Uncle Walt himself, though).
