Any hopes for a Lion King BD replacement disc yet?

I know Pinocchio got one for its audio error and I was wondering if they have a replacement disc for the Lion King's cloud error. As far as I'm concerned, the BD is absolutely perfect aside from that.

It's never, ever going to happen.

Are the missing clouds also missing from the 3D blu?

Unfortunately, I'm sure you're right about this. I think the best hope is for the next release, which will most likely be digital only in like 7 years or however long it'll be.

They'll correct it the same day they do the Aladdin & The King of Thieves dvd.

Nothing for The Lion King or Beauty and the Beast. I just don't think they care at this point.

I highly doubt it. Maybe the next time its released on Blu-ray, etc... it will be fixed.

I doubt it. It is the same thing with the bonusview section of the Pinocchio blu-rays... it won't play in blu-ray players that are 3D compatible. It's an easy fix, but Disney won't do it. It only looks like whenever there is an audio problem, those are always corrected. However, anything else, you doubt it.

They may never correct it. We may be stuck with this flawed version until the end of time.

Maybe if you contacted Disney is customer service they might give in to issue a reissue disc.

Are there actual errors with BatB or is it just restoration issues. The Lion King's seems like an error.

I guess it's worth a try. Maybe if several of us contact customer service they'll send out a disc. I'm sure that's how we got them to send them out in the past.

That's not Disney's problem, that's a software problem

Unfortunately it is a Disney problem. I spoke with the manufacturers of my blu-ray players (OPPO is one of them) and they said that they are aware of the issue and it is an authoring issue with the Pinocchio blu-ray itself. There is an old code in it that disables the bonusview ability in 3D compatible blu-ray players. So, it is not a hardware issue but a software issue (Disney).

Yeah, the transition scene after "Something There" is the special edition version instead of the theatrical version. This was corrected on the 3D release in addition to the colors.

My PC plays the feature though and it's 3D capable. I still believe a patch could solve this, IF the manufactures actually cared.

It could just be set top boxes. My ps3 is 3d compatible and it probably plays perfectly.

Nope, will not work on the PS3 either. The bonusview worked with no issue on the PS3 up until it was upgraded with 3D compatibility. Once that happened, the bonusview stopped working.

Like I mentioned before, I did some research on this and it is an disc authoring issue dealing with an embedded code that will not work on 3D players.

We'll definately have to try to get this straightened out as well.

Oh, I created a thread at Laughing Place about this:

The Lion King BD "Cloud" error. Replacement Disc?
