May 8th it will air on ABC!!!!!!!!!
-------------
Hello all,
The highly anticipated movie-version of "A Wrinkle In Time" is finally
scheduled to air on ABC! The movie will be shown on May 8th, and while
we don't yet know the exact time it will air, we expect that it will be
during "primetime." Check your local listings. We presume that
following the television debut, the movie will be made available on DVD
and video. Madeleine was interviewed for the DVD, a fact which should
make the "special features" very special indeed! Also, the movie is
being shown later this month at the New York International Children's
Film Festival. Visit their website for screening and ticket
information:
http://www.gkids.com/wrinkle.html . We look forward to the
release of the film inspiring people to discuss, revisit, and
hopefully, discover Madeleine's most famous and best-loved book.
Also, many thanks to all of you who took our online survey included in
the last update. If you haven't yet filled it out here's a link to it:

Thanks, we appreciate your help!

Oh, I'm so glad. I was waiting patiently all last year for it to show, but to no avail. Hopefully ABC won't go back on its plans this time.

It's about freaking time this thing aired. I've been waiting for this for 2 years. Although I find it odd this is airing on a Monday as opposed to Saturday or even Sunday.

I have also been waiting for this for a long time, I can't wait!

Actually, May 8 is a Saturday. "Saturday Night at the Movies..."

Wouldn't it make sense to air a movie
at night? Why would they pre-empt daytime for a movie? Especially weekend daytime, which usually is just syndie stuff or golf or whatever they're airing.

Actually, Escapay, "primetime"
is at night - from about 8pm to 11pm ET is what it usually falls into.
I just hope the special effects are passable on this film - it looks kinda like a "Hallmark Presentation"-type film, and they didn't do the greatest job on
Dinotopia, imo. O_o

I know that primetime is at night, I'm just wondering why *they're* speculating whether or not it would air at night. No one in their right mind would schedule a movie premiere on television in the afternoon. So why should they bother speculating when it should air?

It's a movie that's based on a children's book, so it would already qualify for a WWoD movie, and they usually start at 8.

I have waited SO long for this movie to come out, I can't wait to see it! I hope it's as good as the book was.

Wow, I didn't even know there was GOING to be a movie. I'm surprised it's on Wonderful World of Disney. Unless it IS a Disney movie (it may be), I'm not sure it's appropriate for that, given that this book is always so controversial. I don't agree with some of the underlying themes presented in the book, but I really like it overall (the whole series, actually), and will definitely watch this.

Well they can not really do worse than "The Phoenix and the Carpet" movie.

I have been waiting FOREVER for this. Is there even a reason for the delay? They advertised it on the VHS for the first "Spy Kids" movie. I have even voted for a DVD release on
http://www.tvshowsondvd.com because I assumed they decided not to air it. I hope it does the book justice. Too bad they have waited to long to make the other books into movies with the same cast.

Just got a new email update:
Hello all, the scheduled air date for the "Wrinkle" movie has changed.
It will now air on Monday, May 10th at 8pm/7c on ABC and not on May 8th
as originally reported. We do not expect this to change again as it has
been officially announced in press releases, marketing materials, etc.
In addition to the profile that appeared in the April 12th issue of the
New Yorker, we look forward to other bits of media about Madeleine and
the movie as the air date approaches. We also hope to facilitate
through the website some post-movie discussion amongst
viewers--reactions to the movie, remembrances of the book, etc. We will
send out another update about that closer to the time.
We hope everyone is enjoying the emergence of spring; Madeleine is
looking forward to spending the spring/summer at her home in the
Connecticut countryside.
Best,
Edward Jones, Webmaster

They delayed airing it for like two years for an ideal time...and so they're showing it on a Monday night? That's a bit odd.
And Gregory Smith looks kind of young in the picture. But then again, the movie was made so long ago. Oh well, I still have hopes for it.

I agree Luke. It's only two weeks away and no ads/previews. Delay after delay, this highly anticipated movie should get the red carpet treatment. I hope it does well. Like many, I have been waiting years for this. I hope they make a nice DVD with special features, etc.
I wonder if this is a multi-part miniseries or simply one night? And monday, why not make it for Sunday night.

Why would Disney put Gregory Smith against Gregory Smith?
Everwood also starts on Monday.
What to do?
I'll just tape "A Wrinkle in Time" and watch it later.
Big Everwood fan!!!
Reason why "A Wrinkle in Time" is on Monday because of Harry Potter.
ABC
Saturday, May 8
"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition"

Sunday, May 9
"Movie: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone"
Monday, May 10
