I'm REALLY sorry if someone has already started a thread about this, but I was wondering what new DTV movies/3-D films are going to come out in the next year or two (or three)?

I heard rumors about a second sequel to The Rescuers being released as a Direct-to-Video DVD, I was so upset!

I hope they completely thrash this idea and take The Rescuers Down Under away with it. Sheesh! Whoever had the brilliant idea of making a sequel to The Rescuers, should be burned at stake.

There are also re-releases of the Aladdin & Lion King sequels.

Yeah, thanks Loomis! Though I knew most of the ones this year, stupid of me to ask.
I also have heard about "An American Dog", "A Day in the Life of Wilbur Robinson" and "Rapunzel Unbraided". Any thoughts or knowledge on these three?

I'm pretty sure all three of those are under development but they're not going to be DTV, they're going to be "Animated Classics". Someone please correct me if I'm wrong though.

I should also add that in addition to the great stuff Luke has constructed for us here, the
Magical Earssite is a fairly good resource (not as good as the late great Animated News, or UD.com of course...).

Thanks Loomis. You know, I always think of you as that cute fluffy Stitch picture, but your last two avatars have been a little different

I read/heard somewhere that Twice Upon A Christmas was going to have 3-D CGI... don't remember where, though. Here, maybe? Not sure.

Well, the last one was from one of the greatest TV shows ever - The League of Gentlemen - and the character was Papa Lazarou.
This one is the frontman from the greatest band on the face of the planet (You Am I) - Tim Rogers....

On
http://www.animated-news.com/archives/00001045.html
it has "Key Releases" on the bottom of the page. For 2005, the only animated film from Disney itself is Chicken Little, with 2006 "A Day With Wilbur Robinson". It doesn't mention "The Wild", "An American Dog" or "Rapunzel Unbraided". Maybe they will come in 2007? Or are they not "key releases"?

Well, I wouldn't worry about Key Releases. They don't seem to count Home on the Range as a Key Release! In fact, it doesn't appear to be mentioned anywhere in the presentation!

This letter at Save Disney almost made me sick
http://www.savedisney.com/letters/lotw/
Tarzan 2,
Lilo and Stich 2,
Fox and the Hound 2, and
Bambi 2 and the worst - a
Tinkerbell movie! I'll have to see it

just because it's from Peter Pan.... Add to those
Dumbo 2 and it just makes me
Looking forward to the

movie!

The

movie will probably be a compilation or spin-off of the rumoured animated series about Tink and her fairy friends.
I guess they've forgotten she's a pixie, not a fairy. Just like in Return to NeverLand.

What about the new Peter Pan movie "I do believe in
fairies I do I do"? I will probably even buy this

movie, depressing as it must sound, because of my addiction to Peter Pan. Do you think that the series got canned like so many others and is now going to be a DTV or a tie in like Stitch! ?

Disney STOP with the cheapsequals.
Why don't they save the money to make better animated classics?

Um, probably because they make a whole load of money off those "cheapsequals" without spending a lot of money in the first place.

I think that instead of sequels, Disney Toon Studios or whatever they are called should release films like
The Three Muskateers and other original films. I've heard they are also making Mickey Mouse in Space, though that worries me.

Dumbo II
Bambi II (Bambi and the Great Prince)
Cinderella 3
The Hefflelump Movie
The Rescuers 3 (rumored)
The Fox and the Hound II Friends Forever
The Little Mermaid 3 (rumored)
Hercules 2 (The Trojan War?)
Mulan II & III
Tarzan II
Lilo & Stitch II
The Emperor's Newer Groove
Pete's Dragon 2 (rumored)
Mickey Mouse in Space
A Tinkerbell Movie
3-D Projects from Disney
Chicken Little (2005)
A Day with Wilbur Robinson (2006)
The Wild
Rapunzel Unbraided
An American Dog

I don't know where I read it, but I remember reading an interview with Don Hahn ("The Lion King," "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" and "The Haunted Mansion") and he said that he is currently producing a Disney CG animated feature titled "Gnomeo and Juliet" about a lawn gnome who falls in love. Has this been canceled, or is it so early in it's production faze that no year is announced? It sounds kind of lame, but so do some of Disney's other upcoming CG films.
