Tarzan in 3D?

According to the Argentinian website Cine 1, this is the teaser poster for the theatrical re-release of Tarzan in 3D. I've browsed the site and it seems pretty legit to me. They are also the ones who leaked those Wreck-It Ralph posters. What do you think?

I sure hope this is true as Tarzan would look great in 3D especially the Deep Canvas.

It makes me glad I skipped on that terrible Blu-ray, because this theatrical re-release implies a new BD edition could be on its way.

Also, I recon Tarzan will look spectacular in 3D. Now what about Aladdin 3D, Disney?

Well, I was really hoping the next one announced would be Aladdin...but I'm game. Definitely a lot of depth to work from.

Indeed.

As much as I hate 3D, I think this film would work perfect for it. Tarzan is not only one of my all time disney films, but one of my top ten animated films of all time. I would love to revisit this movie in theaters, having not seen it on its original release.

Add me to the list of people who felt the next 3D release should have been Aladdin. That would have rounded out the 'Fab Four.'

But I am excited by the possibility of Tarzan getting a re-release. I hope this means that the rest of the Renaissance films might get the treatment.

Totally unexpected given the recent release. But boy, am I in for this (if it's too)! So happy I haven't bought Tarzan yet.

Thanks Sotiris, you totally made my day! :D :D

HECK YES!! I hope this isn't a fan made. Besides Aladdin, I think the two films that would benefit the most from a 3D conversion are Tarzan and Hunchback. Sadly, I don't think we'll ever see the effort put into the latter, but if Tarzan comes out next year, even if doesn't get a theatrical release, I'd love to own it on Blu-Ray 3D.

Thanks Sotiris :)

the one thing that really breaks the deal for me is the "Disney" title. all the other sideways titles had a normal, horizontal "Disney" above them

You're right but it's only a provisional poster and it will probably change.

So, do you believe it? You've got great insight on all things Disney apparently, yet you don't share your opinions very often - just your info

I want it to be true. :P I'm still in doubt though. I suppose we'll find out for sure soon enough.

Thanks. I do express my opinion just not very often; only when I have something significant or interesting to add.

Aladdin would look great in 3D! The same can be said for The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I'd wish Disney would make 3D versions of all the Reneissance movies. Aladdin, Pocahontas, Hunchback, Hercules, Mulan and Tarzan.

Aladdin would look AMAZING in 3D! I would so go see that. :)

I am sure Tarzan will be amazing as well.

Apparently, the poster is fan-made. I can't be certain if this means that Tarzan won't be re-released in 3D after all but since there hasn't been any news of an imminent 3D conversion, I assume that the website in question simply got it confused with the upcoming mo-cap Tarzan movie which was recently announced and which will be in 3D.

Sorry for getting your hopes up, everyone :(

Tarzan would have been such an off-the-wall choice for a re-release. I would've thought they'd release something like Cinderella or The Jungle Book before doing any of the '90s films. I'm not surprised they would overlook Aladdin, since they seem to have turned their back on the film lately. I believe it all started with the poor Platinum sales--and I don't even if they were poor, or if Disney just expected more (when their expectations aren't met, they generally forget film--exhibit A, Pocahontas).

Still, they've been strangely partial to Tarzan, so I wouldn't be surprised either. Remember the (also off-the-wall) choice of Tarzan for a Broadway musical that nobody wanted or needed? Aladdin was the better choice then, too.

I've seen The Lion King in 3D on October 8th which was absolutely brilliant, and in September 2012, Disney's Tarzan will be also re-released in cinemas next, so I can hear the songs from Phil Collins, see Terk doing to some jazz, and sing the Oscar-winning song "You'll Be in My Heart" again. Disney's Tarzan was totally amazing since I was 5 years old seeing it in cinemas in October 1999. When I was at college, I rang Mom to ask Disney about Disney's Tarzan. Disney said to her is Yes, bringing the film back next September. I loved Disney's Tarzan and Phil Collins.

Tarzan. Owned by Edgar Rice Burroughs and Disney Enterprises Inc. Used by permission.
Mom rung Disney and they said yes, but they gonna confirm it in the end of July.

this is fan made obviously, but... I don't know. I also don't know what to make of these 2 posts

We do not have any release details for this title at this time. Although we do not have a tentative release date set, we would be happy to share with the rest of our team that you would like to have this available on 3D for purchase! Your feedback helps us build a better experience for all of our guests and is truly appreciated!
