I wanted to show you mine's so here it is:
1.
Scott Campbell- He's one of the biggest influence for me especially the way he draws. Something about his lines and how appealing it is, especially the girls. My artwork and style improve so much thanks to discovering his work. His style also help work well with the characters I create like Ferrari or Leonarda.
2.
Kentaro Muira-The man is a mutha-fucking genius and a godsend artist. This is the man who created the awesome manga, BERSERK. The level of details, story, structure etc is off the chart with this guy. Even when he was 17 yrs old he was fucking amazing. This guy is simply awesome and Berserk is one of my all time favorite manga and even fictional story.
3.
Ralph McQuarrie- Lucas may been a dickhole now but if there one thing I'd give him huge credit for , is his choice and collaboration with this man, Ralph McQuarrie. Being a big Sci-fi person, you can imagine how much of an influence this guy is. Without him you wouldn't have Star Wars. It was his work that persuade the Hollywood executives to consider Lucas to making this film. His work is also amazing in the ideas and concepts his imagination can come up with for a sci-fi world. I love the sci-fi architecture he created for Cloud City, Coruscant, and Jabba's palace. The colors he use influences me too the way he has these colors give deep connection for. He also did some of the matte background scenery for the movie like in Cloud City. It's so real that it beats CGI stuff we have now. I also love the concepts of the various aliens he comes up with too.
4.
Yoshiyuki Sadamoto-He is well known for the character design and art direction for Neon Genesis Evangelion. He also does the manga version of the same title. What I love about his work in his illustrations is that I like the tone and feel of the colors he uses and the simple faces and simplicity of the figure but details in everything else. I have both Evangelion artbooks of his and I love looking at the stuff he does. He's truly great at what he does. Oh and Asuka is one of the inspirations for Ferrari.
5.
Adam Hughes- If there is one thing I love more than his art, it's his humor. Has very strange but funny humor especially when he incorporate it into his art. His girls are more realistic and while the style isn't something I'd go for myself, the techniques he does and use I love and love learning from. One of my favorite is his sketch of Mara Jade and how he made the OVC catsuit look form fitting and shiny. Especially on the boobs LOL.
6.
Yasuhiro Nightow- He's known for Trigun/Trigun Maximum. His style completely different but I love it and I also love his designs and concepts he creates. I love the designs and concepts he did for Gungrave which I have the artbook of. All the creatures and weapons he create are amazing. He really creative when it comes to making sci-fi/fantastical weapons and vehicles. He has nice rough, edgy, raw, and grittiness to his style.
7.
Masamune Shirow- He known for creation of well known titles: Ghost in a Shell, Appleseed, Orion, and Dominion. Most people are really only familiar with the first two and not even his work but the movies/tv series stuff. I recommend reading the manga the he did. What i love about him is his texture, his themes, concepts, and art tone. I love all the high tech cosmology he creates. The girls he draw are awesome too. Not just that they're sexy but also the expression, movement etc. I also love his outfit fashion designs for his characters. they really are big inspiration in me creating nice 80's/sci-fi blend world.
8.
Micheal Turners- Bless his soul. He dies in 2008 but his are real amazing artist with amazing talent. the man hardly knew much about comic or the comic world and yet Top Cow saw great potential in his work. Now he regard as one of well known and biggest comic artist even before his death. He is well know for creation of WitchBlade as well as work on Tomb Raider comic and Aspian. I love his girls but what I love about his or rather the main female protagonist in Witchblade, Sara Pezzini, is how much of a strong and independent woman she is. She one of the main big influence for creation of Leonarda. In design and personality and attitude.
9.
Yusuke Murata- He's did the artwork for the manga Eyeshield 21. This guy for young man draws amazingly well and put nice mix blend of realism and cartoony together. Look at his illustrations. The way he uses copics markers are crazy and I'd love to reach that level with them. I also love his unique and fun characters and their designs that he creates. If you read Eyeshield 21 you'd know what I mean. They're all so interesting and likable that you get attracted to.
10.
Syd Mead- Known best for his set and concept design for Blade Runner as well as Aliens. Like Ralph, he's one of the older artist with big sci-fi influences. with him I love how he makes the designs for vehicles not just cool looking but also FUNCTIONALLY possible too. he's a genius with the visions he has and that I love the stuff he comes up with. A big influence for me in regard to science fiction.
11.
Bruce Timm- Ah Bruce. This man is an influence to many many people. And he one for me as well. The Batman the animated series and the Superman the animated series are two of biggest shows I love. With Batman the tone and setting really dig in for me. I love the art Deco setting and themes he use which also help spark my interest in art deco and anything from 1920's to 40's. I love his girls lol. And even his regular illustrations are great. the color tones and values he uses are styles but also flesh and realistically formed. With Superman series, His Supergirl design is the biggest design inspiration for Ferrari. The blonde hair, the bangs, the headband, the immature attitude.
12.
Tite KUBO-nuff said. The one above all. Trololol
13.
OH! GREAT- This is another one with some fucking mad drawing skills. his illustrations are also fucking mind blowing. Different From Muira's but the techniques and line work he does are insane. The way he do tones are also sick. It terms of techniques and skills, he's awesome. He's known for the manga Tenjo Tenge. Look at his illustrations and you'll see how good he is.
14.
Jim Lee- Jim Lee created the revival and interest in in the X-Men and change the way we look and see them with. Currently he's working for DC Comic but back then he worked for Marvel and the X-Men franchise. One of the biggest influences of his to me is the new creation and design of Jean Grey. The one in the Gold and Blue outfit. Something about her look, appeal and personality made me get hugely inspired when creating Leonarda along with the ones from Micheal Turner's Sara Pezzini. I love the hair look, the maturity etc of this Jean and thus it became one of my big spring board in designing her.
15.
Hiroki Endo- I couldn't find pic of him but the pic I posted up is the manga he does, Eden: It's An Endless World. He does more realistic in tone, mood, etc but I love his art and love the sci-fi tech he draws. The story is also very amazing and well done.
16.
Joe Madureira- He worked on Marvel and I like his stuff he did for X-Men. I just love the style he does to his characters. Especially on Jean Grey.
17.
Gil Elvgren- He's my favorite pin-up artist. I love the themes, the colors, poses etc he does in his pin-ups. he makes the sexy, cute and fun all at once. Campbell is also influenced I have his artbook too.
18.
Tetsuo Hara- This guy is a genius when it comes to creating badass and manly men that kick fucking ass hardcore. He know for the artwork for the manga Fist of the North Star (Hokuto no Ken). The intensity, the mass, the dimension of his men and even the females have such great weight and feel to it. His work revolutionize in the manga world some of the most well known shonan troupes archtypes. A lot of the shonan manga of the 80's affected the way shonan is now. Dragonball is another. I have the artbook of Hokuto no Ken and is it amazing. it even comes with some actual manual scripts originals from manga
19.
Katsuhiro Otomo- Man who created Akira. Most people are more familiar with the movie rather than the manga. read the manga. Has some awesome mind blowing artwork, designs and story. He's another legend I love and I have his Akira artbook too.
20.
Freddie Moore- His girls. LOL
21
Nobuhiro Watsuki- Known best for the manga Rurouni Kenshin. Along with Berserk, this is my other ALL TIME FAVORITE. I love everything about his work(well mostly his early work. some point during final arc- the Jinchu arc of Rurouni Kenshin his art style degenerate to something not my taste but his earlier stuff in the series was great) I love his characters, the influences he has, the designs, the story everything about him.
22.
Kosuke Fujishima- He's known for Ah My Goddess and You're Under Arrest! I love his older work than his newer one but the with the older one I love outfits, characters, humor and the slice of life style and simplicity to it. It also had some rawness to it. After volume 24 or 25 of Ah my goddess, he style started to change to too much of the generic anime style you see nowadays in Dating Sims, hentai etc. The moe style. Before that the characters had a much more weight and organic feel to it. the emotions also felt better before.
23.
Yukito Kishiro- Creator of the manga called Battle Angel Alita. I love his grittiness and rawness to it. I love all the sci-fi concepts and designs he creates and the cyberpunk feel to it.. the story is also amazing and well done. Now if only James Cameron work his ass up and get starting on making this in a movie like he so intended to. Fucking Avatar.
24.
Hiroki Samura-This guy is so fucking good with a pencil. Seriously. Most artist finish their illustration or work in ink, color etc. This guy does most in simple pencil. and yet it feels like such a well complete illustration. He amazing. He's known for the manga Blade of the Immortal, which is an excellent manga to read. I do recommend it. I do have the art book of his on it.
25.
Marc Davis- Like Campbell, this guy another big influence for me in the way i draw and style(as well as taste in women lol) which Campbell is also influenced by. I love Marc's girls. From Alice to Cinderella, to Tinkerbell to Aurora, Marc knows how draw awesome blonde girls. If you know by now, I love blonde girls and the female characters I showed you in my art thread all have Bland hair:Leonarda, Ferrari, Donatella etc. It's all clearly there.
26.
Dean Yeagle- Like Enigmawing, i'm also influence but his girls too. I like Mandy as she fun, full of energy, cute, and full of life. In a way she holds some influences for the creation of Ferrari in that regards. I've yet to get his art books but I do plan on getting them.
27.
H.R. Giger- This guy's surreal stuff is mind blowing. He is well known for the creation and design of Xenomorphs and the set designs for the movie Alien. What i love about his art is how it influnces ideas in creating very out of world and oddity entities and creatures.. his work also are metaphors on sex and pornography. Even in the movie Alien, it's there.
There is another guy I like i didn't put up cause I couldn't find pic of him but it's Masahisa Suzuki and he's an amazing illustrator. I love his sci-fi stuff he drew, from the colors he use, to the outfit designs, to the vehicles and setting he draws. The all influnce me and I have all his art books.
