On May 11th, DreamWorks Home Entertainment will release a new Shrek 3- D double pack to repromote the blockbuster flick just in time for the theatrical premiere of its new sequel, Shrek 2. This two-for- one will include the same collector's edition of the film currently available, plus a second platter with the all-new adventure Shrek 3-D. This pseudo-sequel will include four pairs of 3-D glasses, a Shrek 2 preview featurette, and collectible packaging. Retail will be just $26.95 for the box.
Does anyone have more info on this?

that sounds really cool, but I wonder if the 3d will be available separately? I don't really want to rebuy Shrek

A bit off-topic, but did anyone see the Barbera Walters interview where she 'interviewed' Shrek? It aired before the Academy Awards. They showed "home videos from his honeymoon" and I'm wondering whether or not they are part of Shrek 2. Some of them were pretty funny, and once again they spoofed Disney Movies . . . most memorably the Little Mermaid.

Well, Mermaid Kelly, I'm not sure if it's actually part of the movie . . . but then again, it probably is, because I doubt they'd do all that animation just for a Barbara Walters special.

Ok thanks Jambo*Rafiki. Also to respond to your question before, I know the honeymoon footage is part of Shrek 2.

There is honeymoon footage in Shrek 2.... but Barbera Walters will not be a part of it. the pre-oscars were just a special, and it will not be included in the sequel.

same here, but i dont think we'll have to... because most likely it will be available in rental stores, and so im goin to rent it first to see how it is, and if i absolutley love it, i might be willing to rebuy the first if 3D is worthwhile.
and if not, worse comes to worse ill wait or month or two when they start selling it on it's own in bargain bins or whatever.

Does anyone know if this movie is going to be full length? because it just popped out of nowhere and ill be really dissapointed if this is just a crappy promotion and no more. also, will it all be original script? i think there's a good chance that some of it will be stolen from the new Universal Studios ride, shrek 4D, a 12 minute 3D simulater plus water squirting effects and what not. In roughly two weeks Im going on a trip to Disneyworld (first time!! Yay!! :D ) and on one of the days that im there im also going to head out to Universal, so i'll review the ride when i come back and ill post if i think that any of the material might make the movie.

For such a cheap price, I don't mind re-buying Shrek to get the 3-D experience for my own room. I'll just sell that foolscreen DVD. (Before you ask, I would never get Spy Kids 3-D - the 3-D experience can't make up for the god-awful movie)
