Sad, sad day for fans of The Monkees.
I grew up watching the show and wanted to marry Davy when I was a kid (I had no clue how old the show was at the time or that he was over 30 years older than me, lol). And oddly enough, I was thinking about him yesterday because I was talking about an old stuffed crust Pizza Hut commercial:

Fans younger than me might remember him best from his cameo in The Brady Bunch Movie.

RIP Davey.
I'm much too young to be a huge fan of The Monkees (My Mum liked them growing up), but it's still sad to know that he died at such an age.

I'm not all crazy about the Monkees, but Davy Jones will be missed.

My roommate told me about his passing when I came home.

I used to watch the show every day when I was little, and I used to see him perform every year at Epcot. RIP, Davy. You've made so many people so happy.

Yeah- in my book, he was a great guy, a hunk, a legend, and those Brady movies were fun.

Back in 1967 when The Monkees were all the rage and they started touring to prove they could all play their own instruments, I had the pleasure of emceeing a concert at Earl Warren Showgrounds in Santa Barbara, California that headlined The Monkees.
Mickey, Mike, Peter and Davy were all gentlemen, and they could play their instruments rather well.
I am pleased to have this memory to remember Davy Jones by.
R.I.P.: Davy Jones

Davy Jones was probably the first crush that I can remember having. I had all the Monkess albums (now the CDs) and I have both seasons of the series. I also loved Davy on his Brady Bunch episode!
The Monkees' music is underrated, imo.

You know... I haven't heard much of their stuff but I've always thought this song was incredible:

Not that anyone is/would be surprised. But, this is A+ music. Not just pop either, real rock music. Not nearly as sweet as a lot of bands and acts who have reputations for being factory assembled. This song points to real musicianship.
