...had another nomination.

Peter Pan should of had a nomination for score of maybe best song for The Second Star to the Right or You Can Fly.

Lady and the Tramp should gotten for score and best song for Bella Notte.

101 Dalmatians for the song Cruella De Vil

Mulan should of won best score and had a nomination for best song for Reflections.

Lilo & Stitch should of won Best Animated Feature and maybe get a nomination for Best song for Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride.

Enchanted should of won best song (That's How You Know).

The Princess and the Frog should have won Best Song (Either I'm Almost There or Down in New Orleans)

Tangled should of gotten nominations for Best score and Best Animated Feature.

anyone agree?

Not to be *that guy*, but it really should be “should have” instead of “should of.”

But I agree that Enchanted’s “That’s How You Know” was award-worthy, but I can’t remember the competition that year.

yeah, I was going to ask if you wouldn't mind also posting all of these film's competition. I can sort of remember the more recent, but I have no clue what was competing against Peter Pan, LatT, or 101D.

I agree with toplaycool22. It's kind of a shame and a crime the movies he/she mentioned didn't win/get nominated for their respective oscars. :(

*Add best song nomination for The Three Caballeros for "The Three Caballeros"

*Add best song nomination for Song of the South’s "Laughing Place" and "How Do You Do" (only "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah" was nominated)

*Add best song nomination for The Many Adventures of Winnie-the-Pooh (oh god, there are just soo many to choose from)

*Add best score nomination for The Great Mouse Detective (well Henry Mancini was known for his catchy themes)

*Add a best song nomination for Oliver & Company ("Why Should I Worry?" is addictive as shit and "Once Upon a Time in New York City" needs some love)

*Add best song nomination for The Little Mermaid’s "Part of Your World" and "Poor Unfortunate Souls" (only "Under the Sea" and "Kiss the Girl" were nominated)

*Add a best score nomination for The Rescuers Down Under (Bruce Broughton was just warming up, his theme park work is fantastic)

*Add best song nomination for Beauty and the Beast’s "Gaston" and "Something There" (only "Beauty and the Beast", "Be Our Guest" and "Belle" were nominated)

*Add best score and best song for The Nightmare Before Christmas (pick a song: "This is Halloween", "Jack's Lament", "What's This?", all excellent)

*Add a best song nomination for A Goofy Movie ("Stand Out" or "Eye to Eye", you know you love them)

*Add a best score and best song for The Hunchback of Notre Dame (pick a song: "The Bells of Notre Dame", "God Help the Outcasts", "Heaven’s Light / Hellfire", all excellent)

*Add a best score nomination for Dinosaur and Atlantis: The Lost Empire (talk about being snubbed, despite the quality of the movies, James Newton Howard’s scores were fantastic)

*Add a best score nomination for Lilo & Stitch (Alan Silvestri delivered the goods and it certainly holds up against it’s competition that year)

*Add best score nomination for Brother Bear (at times, pretty powerful stuff)

I think "Hunchback" did get a nomination for Best Score:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0116583/awards

I am however in full agreement with you on the movie getting some sort of song nomination and "Nightmare" getting recognition for its music too.

I think Rocketeer should have got some noms for score, costumes and art direction.

Edit: It sounds like jp meant win not nom for "Hunchback", if that's the case, my bad.

Tangled should have gotten a score and animated feature nomination and should have won the song category.

Hunchback deserved at least one song nomination and should have won it along with best score.

Enchanted (best live-action Disney movie since Mary Poppins) should have won the song category and in my opinion gotten a best picture nom along with best actress for the beautiful Amy Adams (who should have won).

The Princess and the Frog should have won for "Almost There" fantastic song and sequence and possibly the feature award (my fav that year, but everything that came out that year was fantastic.)

Aladdin should have gotten a screenplay nom

In my opinion I think Beauty and the Beast should have won picture, but Lamb is a good movie.

The Lion King should have gotten a Best Picture nom

Agree with the Oliver song nom for Why Should I Worry (love that song)

Don't agree with Lilo winning feature, but it would be my first choice if Spirited Away didn't come out.

Agree with the Mulan thing

1. Amy Adams should have been nominated and won for Best Actress for Enchanted.

2. The Princess and the Frog and Tangled should have both won for Best Song.

3. Cinderella should have won for Best Song.

I did mean that but at the same time I forgot it won that category. During that brief 4 year period, the Academy split the Best Score category into two separate categories: Best Dramatic Score and Best Musical / Comedy Score (AKA: the Disney musicals). It seems their was much complaining after Disney took home the Best Score Oscar 3 out of 4 years during the renaissance peak (the year they didn't win is the year they didn't release a film, unless you count The Nightmare Before Christmas, which was snubbed) and so the Academy created a kids table (they would continue this tradition of belittling animation with the creation of the Best Animated Feature category). Anyways, thanks for reminding me, I forgot it got a nomination. Still, it should've won both of those Best Score categories.

Surprised no one has said a lot of Disney movies should have been nominated for Best Picture (starting with Snow White) and a lot of them also have won (again, like Snow White).

I agree with The Nightmare Before Christmas comments you all posted about and The Lion King getting a Best Picture nomination.

I don't think a lot of them deserve Best Picture noms. Sure they are fantastic movies, but not Best Picture worthy. Maybe Snow White because it was pretty revolutionary, but Pinocchio more so. I think maybe The Jungle Book could have garnered a nom, but that's a stretch too.

I think the only ones that truly deserve a Best Picture nom are The Lion King, Wall-E, and possibly even Aladdin however the other ones not so much. The only ones that I think are worthy of a win would be Beauty and the Beast and possibly The Lion King and Wall-E, but these are a stretch.

Well, I'm in a rush, so I'll just say this. I think Beauty and the Beast should have gotten best picture. Yes, I prefer it to Silence of the Lambs. And then they gave us the finger by creating the animated feature Oscar. I also will always be royally ticked off that Shrek beat Monsters, Inc. That is bull. :x

I agree, especially about Snow White getting at least a nomination. I think you could make arguments for a few of the early films (Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo, Bambi) being worthy of at least a nomination. That being said, Walt Disney still holds the record for most Academy Award nominations (59) and wins (22).

No one else thinks so, so, so many more Disney movies deserve best picture nominations? And you're all huge Disney fans? What?!

I don't know what I'm apalled at more! You thinking few Disney movies are good enough to be Best Picture worthy, you thinking the Jungle Book or Wall-E are two that are worthy, or your obvious bias that maybe Aladdin could be! I am half joking, but only half! ;)

DisneyAnimation88, yes, THANK YOU! I think Cinderella should also have been nominated and maybe have won but I know few will share that opinion. :P

Despite my bias (slasher films make me feel sick, and I obviously love Disney), I do to :thumb:
And then they gave us the finger by creating the animated feature Oscar.

This  The animated feature oscar lets alot of crap through the net, because there's less competition, meaning the lesser candidates have a greater chance of being nominated (and winning) I also wonder if an animated film could win best film, but not best animated film
I also will always be royally ticked off that Shrek beat Monsters, Inc. That is bull. :x
Same here. Shrek has some redeeming features, but it isn't comparable to Monsters Inc

You have to remember that Shrek was HUGE, when it opened. Monsters Inc was beloved, too, but at the time, Shrek was the animated film everybody was talking about. For a lot of Oscar wins, you have to look at them in an historical context.

As for the Animated Feature category having less competition, it's getting more and more competitive each year. This year alone, acclaimed works like Rio or Kung Fu Panda 2 or Winnie the Pooh might not even get nominated, because of how strong it is.

Um, they're not supposed to judge them like that.

Interesting, since I think most people would probably say Bambi first, or right after Snow White, and these days a lot of people probably fee Fantasia is worthy (though I don't know if I'm on that horse). I think many Disney animated and even live action films are worthy, besides just those and Mary Poppins, but I wouldn't be surprised if not many folks backed me up on the live-action aspect.

I'm sure if Mary Poppins came out in 1963 instead of 1964, it would have won Best Picture.

From a historical point of view, Snow White, The Lion King, and Toy Story should have been nominated.
