Does anyone know if the crafty old tiger "Raja", made any other appearances, other than in the 1960 gem "Goliath II" ?
I believe Raja was the true "star" of this short and is hilarous to view. It is great to watch Raja fail everytime to get tiny Goliath II the baby elephant into his clutches !
Hopefully this short with be in the assorted collection in the Wave 4 Treasures.

Nah, that's Rajah. Goliath's Raja is only in Goliath, as far as I know. Anyone have pictures?

Is it that tiger Which is trying to eat the Goliath II all the time? I watched this movie a long time ago.
In the end, as I remember, the Goliath's mother throws Raja into the river where a big crocodile waits and he eats poor tiger for lunch.

There is one short that includes a tiger in a Goofy short, "Tiger Trouble (1945)". I don't know if its the right short for that but I think the tiger's appearence was similiar to Raja's. However, that tiger was trying to chase Goofy all over this short, not even caught or eaten. If its the wrong animated short, then I'm appologized. I haven't seen that goofy short for years and I think I need to re-watch it again.

My favorite part about Goliath II is seeing all the stuff Disney re-used to make it. There are a bunch of scenes in it taken directly from their earlier films. They re-used material in some of the their cartoons, but Goliath II is the grand showcase of budget cutting in animation.
There are scenes and characters and even sounds taken from Dumbo, the Jungle Book, Peter Pan, The Three Caballeros, Bambi, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad... and probably others I'm forgetting. You'll find out how well you know Disney animation by watching Goliath II and seeing how many re-used things you recognize. It's a nice story, though... Bill Peet was great. I also love his books.

Considering Goliath II was released 7 years before The Jungle Book was, I don't see how that's possible

Then it might have been the other way around...?

I've just watched Goliath II again and I must correct myself about that scene with Raja. I thought that his story ends in a crocodile's stomach, but it isn't so.
Althought the tiger Raja is eaten by the crocodile, he doesn't end his life in his belly. He has some luck: the crocodile, in his excitment and hurry, swallows him whole. So Raja is still alive inside the crocodile's belly. After finishing his meal the crocodile goes to sleep. He lies on his back, closes his eyes and openes his mouth in a pleasure. Tiger Raja wakes up and quickly escapes from his stomach and run away. When the crocodile realizes that his stomach is empty again it is too late.
So, another happy end (especially for Raja)

Here are some:
1.) Raja, the funny tiger
2.) another pic:
3.) Raja looking inside the crocodile's throat. Later he will have a chance to see it from even closer...:
4) Raja finally catches little Goliath II...
5.) ...but not for long...suddently, Raja himself is in trouble
6.) Raja in some bigger trouble...:
7.) Raja in the air:
8.) ...and Raja in even bigger trouble

:
9.) No, this day really isn't lucky for poor tiger...:
10.) Raja inside the crocodile's mouth...:
11.) ...and poor Raja inside the crocodile's stomach. The crocodile looks very pleased with his dinner:
12) After that day nobody saw Raja again. One could guess why...

If you didn't watch the animated short, you probably won't understand what's going on from the pictures that jangce took. Actually, Rafiki's post was created back in 2 years ago. So, that is the reason why you didn't understand it.
Jangce, I know I'm a bit nitpicky on the pictures, but the words "Snatch it Demo" was shown in one of the pictures. Are you using the "Trial" version of it?

Actually, it was shown in quite a few pictures, not just one. But that's okay, we all make mistakes.

You forgot the mother bird from Alice in Wonderland was reused. I think they made her look more tropical, but they used the same basic animation, haha.
