Does the Disney Princess franchise have a "leader"

Or rather, who would YOU select as their de facto leader? Or if they even need a leader?

I'd pick either Ariel or Jasmine. Ariel if they were to give a pure and gentle face to the franchise, or Jasmine if they were to give it an independent and assertive face. Some of the other princesses could alternate, like Snow White or Rapunzel in Ariel's place, or Belle or Tiana in Jasmine's place.

What do you guys think?

If they did, and don´t ask me why, but I´d say Aurora.

She does have a look of being more mature.

I think the leader is Cinderella. She's on almost all of the princess merchandise and whenever the princesses are grouped together, she is usually placed in the center.

Cinderella was and always will be a maid.

Yeah, I think Cinderella’s their spokesperson.

As for myself, I would want a strong character, like Pocahontas, as a leader. She has presence.

My problem with Cinderella is that she looks too uptight in the merchandise.

In fact, she does have a look of: "I´m rich, royalty and better than anyone else".

This.

no offense but Snow white would of been a shitty leader. She's naive, too soft, fragile, and doesn't give any strong willpower and enforcement.

Now Disney Duster on the other hand, HE'S WALT'S fucking personal BEST FRIEND!! He would know definitely what's to do for the girls just like Walt would. How to act royalty, how to LOVE, how to be magical, etc.

Trust me. DUSTER the <strike>man</strike> gal for the role.

It seems quite clear that the company favors Cinderella as the leader.

I can kinda see that. I mean, WDW has HER castle, and she has lived the hardest life (well, Snow White could argue that a bit, but I still go with Cindy) before becoming a princess. Also, the whole "Cinderella Story" thing of dreams coming true, she easily fits as the best Disney representative for the group. I also don't think it makes sense to choose one of the more recent girls. I know Snow White was first, but she does seem too naive, even though she had to do maid work too, a lot, and she did prove assertive enough to go out and find a place to live in the world, making herself useful and all. Wow, now that I think about it, oughta give Snow White more credit. She did take care of herself there for a while. You can only say the prince half-rescued her. I mean, she also rescued herself out of a bad situation first. Okay, animals helped point her in the right direction, but still, that's just the way it is. We get by with a little help from our friends.

I have to say, for me, it should be Snow White or Cinderella, though, officially, I believe it's Cindy if anyone.

Anyways, yeah, I can understand thinking it should be someone who has shown strong leadership or warrior qualities, but that's not really what the Princess group is about. I mean, they're not really going into battle. It's more like the girls they used to have at Disneyland in the equestrian uniforms who were like representatives. It's like an ambassador thing or something. Yes, I'm trying not to say it's a merchandise thing, ha.

No, and I think that is the basic point...that all princesses are different and that not one should be superior over others.

THIS IS NOT MY PICK FOR LEADER, BUT...

I actually recently got a gig to do some coloring pages of the princesses in these assertive women roles. Here's one of the first, Jasmine as a protester. (yeah, it was requested that she have some muscle, and the pose was meant to look like another image that was submitted to me; also, sadly, it was requested she not be bearing her midriff, ha).

I've always thought of the princesses being a part of a league of kingdoms myself, almost like a UN of Disney nations. I mean, I realize the purpose of placing them together isn't as complex but if they were going to be a franchise I kinda made that up for them lol.

I don't really see one being a leader over the other. Some are undoubtably more popular than others, but like the UN there really isn't one set leader or ruler of them all.
