Over at a LiveJournal dedicated to Disney princesses, a member submitted the following image saying that this was a poster they received when they purchased the VHS of Beauty and the Beast in 1992. The official Disney Princess franchise was formed in 2000.

Technically, they're not princes or princesses.

But does anyone (else) have any confirmation of this?

I mean... well, it could be some kind of Photoshopped image or something someone painted / designed themselves. Not that it doesn't look like something Disney would approve of but... It seems like no one else has heard of this or seen it before.

that image is a photo camera. you can see white borders around it being cut off by the camera's uneven position when taking the camera.

Looks legit to me, and it screams early 90's Disney, matching the style of merchandise from back then.

I've noticed that too. Perhaps bruno_wbt could enlighten us on the subject.

Is this that unusual? I mean, characters mixing and mingling. Or are we just talking about posters or specifically royalty? I mean, I know I've seen record albums from the early '80's (and owned some) that have the characters gathered on the album covers, and probably comics as well.

Here's an album I had (and LOVED) as a kid. Need to replace it someday, ha.



Incidentally, Snow White is, apparently, really short, since Alice and Peter would, presumably, be somewhat younger, ha. Then again, I've heard tell Snow White was supposed to be pretty young.

Yeah, I remember that well myself too. I had a Book-on-Tape collection and the artwork on the back of the package had the characters doing just what your pic and Enigmawing's magic carpet image had them mixing together. It's actually incredibly cheesy but I like it anyway.

Wow... I haven't seen that poster (the one with all the princesses in the BATB ballroom) in forever! I remember it. My cousin had it, and it is most definitely made by Disney and from the 90's. I remember how much I loved it when I first saw it. I cannot remember the year exactly, but it must have been some time between 1992 and 1995...
BUT THAT IS DEFINITELY LEGIT DISNEY.

It truly can be cheesy when the characters get together like this, but I admit that I have a real weakness for such things. Major geek out factor as a Disney fanatic. That's why I LOVED House of Mouse. And, I think one of the old Christmas specials (maybe Jiminy Cricket's Christmas?) and one of the Donald Duck shows had a similar gathering of characters a la House of Mouse. I even get giddy over the character interaction in flashbacks on Once Upon a Time. And, don't get me started on crossovers, like in my favorite film, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, or the extremely goofy anti-drug TV special, Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue.

I never really watched House of Mouse but I know exactly what you mean.

I like it better in the conceptual mode of a single poster or cover image though than watching someone trying to imitate the old voice actor(s) like they've done with Kermit the Frog and... well, like WFRR did.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit actually managed to get some real originals, which adds to how special it is, like with Betty Boop and even getting Mel Blanc. Of course, they sound different anyway after so many years, ha. But I really feel like Disney has done a good job with recasting voices. Of course, Huey, Louie, and Dewey changed A LOT, and they probably over-use Jim Cummings, ha. I really don't like it when they use him for Big Bad Wolf.

They did an awful job with the Muppets' voices though. So sad. I have never liked the Looney Tunes' new voices much either, but they're better than the Muppets and I've probably since gotten used to them. I have a love/hate relationship with Space Jam, because it's another movie that brings so many characters together, but it's such a bad movie, ha. It doesn't help that I have no interest in sports unless it's something like cheerleading, or womens' gymnastics, or something of that nature, ha ha. Still, I LOVED Lola Bunny, and Bill Murray was in it...

Amazing to see a piece of official Disney Princess merch with the girls (and their men) on model and almost completely, correctly coloured.

Must be fake.

I also didn't quite see what Robin Hood was holding on to in that poster at first which led me to think "Since when can he fly?".

But what a collection of characters! Elliot, Arthur and Mary Poppins too?

Snow White and her Prince look like they're doing the jitterbug rather than the waltz! Oh, that Snow! What a card!

I love that they all look they way they're supposed to look. And the ballroom isn't bright like friggin' daylight.
