I''ve been trying to copy some dvd's and there seems to be the same error appearing over and over again.

I have managed to rip the dvd to my hard disk (using DVD-Encrypter); now I'm trying to burn it back on a dvd.

Somehow, I can only copy the first title. When I use DVD2one and select 'make a film copy or merge multiple film titles', I can only burn title 1 (episode 1 of my original dvd). When I select 'make full disc copy, including all menus and extras', I cannot make a copy of any title (episode) at all. I will get the following error: 'file not found [title of file in which I have ripped the original dvd with DVD-Encrypter]' and after pressing OK I then get: 'in order to make disc copy you must copy all files in file-mode from the dvd'.

Which I did. The file with the ripped titles/episodes is there; all files from the original dvd have been ripped as well.

So, managing to a.) find the explanation of how to copy a dvd on the internet and b.) find and download the two software programs I needed and c.) being able to make a functioning copy of at least one title/episode on an empty disc, is a very, very big thing for me to do, because I'm usually clueless about computers.

I want to surprise somebody with a copy of this dvd, so it's really important that I solve this problem. Is anybody familiar with this software? Or does anybody know a better/easier way to get myself a copy?

Hate to be a spoil sport here, but have you recently read the FBI Warning about copying?? It is illegal to make copies of DVD's that are protected by copyright.

That being said, I solved the problem buying a Video/Go adapter from Best Buy for $30 (on sale). It regularly sells for around $70.

It is placed between the input to your recorder and the output cord you are using is plugged into it. The sound is direct, there is no copyguard on sound.

If you aren't using a DVD Recorder/Player like the one I use, then I can tell you that the Insignia DVD Recorder/Player will pay for itself after just a few uses. The Recorder costs less than $200 and also includes a VHS Hi-Fi Stereo Player. You can record direct from another DVD source using the "video/go" adapter, but you can't record direct from VHS unless you can find certain film companies that don't 'video protect' their products.

If you are trying to do this on a computer, I apologize, I am about as computer literate as a dead frog.

I don't think the FBI has jurisdiction in Holland.

Thanks for taking the time to offer a solution, anyway. It's much appreciated.

If it weren't for someone else, I wouldn't go through all the trouble. I've never made copies of dvd's before. (But since I already paid for my -overpriced- copy, I have no moral objections to it. I just hope this WON'T spark a debate about piracy/copying.)

At least I am man enough to admit that I do it!! That's more than some of the other critics here at UD.

Does anybody know the best way to burn an mp4 file to a DVD? A month ago, I downloaded a file to go with the Rifftrax of the Star Wars Holiday Special. I have been trying to get the file on a dvd-r to watch on my blu-ray player.
