Cars 2 is coming to Blu-ray/DVD on November 1st and available in multiple formats. Right now there is a lithograph pre-order offer at the Disney Store and a Collectible Case pre-order offer at Best Buy.

Also, it looks like there's going to be an Cars set including all the Cars releases in a collectible set:

I wouldn't even get the box set as I suspect there will be more Cars shorts coming, and maybe even another sequel, so, this set ain't complete.

I take it we'll get a $5 off coupon. Bring back the $10 off coupon! I would really like to see some numbers on how DVD/Blu sales are doing right now with the state the economy is in. Might be a good idea to bring back the $10 off coupons.

God, I hope not. Let the franchise stick to toys and shorts. It sold less tickets than the first film and sequels aren't suppose to do that. Cars does not belong on the big screen.

I think sales are down. I would also love to see the $10 coupons return.

Movie was just ok for me. I'll pick it up eventually, depending on price/coupons/deals.

I was sorely disappointed by this film. This was easily Pixar's worst film for me (Beating out A Bugs Life's spot). I will still get it for my collection though since it did have some nice animation.

I can understand why the critics panned it but I still enjoyed it for what it is. And besides, the animation is purdy. :p I'll be picking up the Blu-ray whenever I get the chance. :D

I agree, in fact, I don't usually buy sets of anything, unless it's my only option. I bought all 3 of the Toy Story films seperately, and that was after they were all released and the set was available.

I'll probably buy it and loan the DVD of the 4 disc pack (Yes, I'd get the one with the Digital Copy probably) to my brother's family....my 4 year old nephew loves Cars and I think he MIGHT like this sequel (i had hoped to take hum to the movie when it was in the theater since he's never been to a movie in the theater before) but no such luck.

I too miss the $10 coupons.

I have a feeling I'll be purchasing this after my Hawaii vacation or I'll get it round X-Mas :) since I already have the 1st film I might as well collect this for "completion" sakes.

The film was fairly good imo, some story parts could've been fairly stronger, I don't get why people think Cars 2 wasn't 70% enjoyable as the first film? my guess is was the way the script was written.

I just realized the stunt Disney is pulling on this one. From what I can tell, it seems that the Blu-ray will be just as almost bare bones as the DVD will be. The real extras will be saved for the Blu-ray 3D. Then, the only "extras" for the DVD and Blu-ray will be two shorts. The first being the "Toy Story" short that was in theaters with "Cars 2" and the second being a new Matter short that almost feels more like an extended commercial for the up coming "Cars" spin-off "Planes!"

I say bad form Disney on this one! Blu-ray hasn't even 100% replaced DVD yet and they are already pulling stupid stunts to get people switch to Blu-ray 3D. I hope this blows up in their face and they realize what a boneheaded move this was!

It's not just Disney pulling this stunt. Notice how very little extras there were on the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 Blu-Ray? Sure they're eventually releasing an Ultimate Edition, but c'mon.

I'm looking forward to this release! I really liked this movie. It's a pity that it doesn't have many bonus features. But hey, at least we're getting an audio commentary.

Question, I reserved the Blu-ray + DVD from the Disney Store and got the lithograths but now realized they only have the DVD+Blu-ray case pictured. Should I assume the Blu-ray-cased version will be available in the store like all the other stores? I won't be happy if I get stuck with a DVD cased version. Is disney store reserving like Best Buy's where they don't hold it behind the counter? (so I can literally pick out the Blu-ray case) or no? Thanks.

I'm very annoyed that a short associated with one film is being attached to a DVD for a completely different film entirely (same is being planned for an upcoming Tangled short). On the other hand, this short might be included in a DVD for the planned Toy Story Toons series in the future but it's a very long future to wait around for. But I'd rather wait for that and have it all together instead of having it attached to Cars 2. I'm a perfectionist that way. :P

You know with a Toy Story Toons series release there will most likely be exclusive shorts. xD

It makes sense to me attaching it to this film as it opened for it. When I watch it at home I like replicating the theater experience by playing the short before the film.

chances are the toy story short will be on the next pixar shorts collection, but who knows how far away that is?

someone on another board reminded me that different regions featured a different racer in one scene. im wondering if each regions dvd/blu release will feature the local racer, or the original?

Will get it on 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD & Digital Copy. A really funny, charming and entertaining movie!
