The Goliath Appreciation Thread

Due to his recent suspension, I felt the urge to create a thread to show him our support and let him know that we do appreciate his contributions to this forum.
Other UD-member appreciation threads:
The Luke Appreciation Thread
The 2099net Appreciation Thread
The Aaron Appreciation Thread

Great idea Sotiris! Goliath KICKS ASS and is in my opinion the smartest and the funniest member here!
I'll miss him greatly. The reason for his suspension is ridiculous; he was just having a harmless joke.
Instead of him being suspended, Disney Duster should be suspended again.

He was suspended? What happened?

A personal attack is only a harmless joke if you're not the focus of it. I fully agree with Luke's decision because it does create a hostile environment for certain members when they're being made a joke of in a thread they're not even participating in. I like Goliath, too, but I thought Luke's decision was fair. The mods have very rarely warned/suspended/banned without reason, and they do it a lot less than it's probably deserved, tbh.
Personally, I find this thread an overreaction considering the suspension'll probably only last a week--if that long.

He harmlessly said something along the lines of 'Look how Disney Duster turned out' in the aforementioned Theme of Wishing thread. Unlike Disney's Divinty, I do not think it was a personal attack.

You didn't seem to think that when Disney Duster was suspended though.

I agree. Disney's Divinty is oddly protective of Disney Duster.

Actually, in the thread about Disney Duster (which I didn’t start)--I objected to littlefuzzy's assertion that Dduster had personally attached anybody. I didn’t object to the suspension itself. Read much?
me wrote:Personally, I have very rarely seen him personally attack anyone. The worst you might get is "That was mean," but it's about a comment and not a person (it's not really different from others calling his own posts ridiculous, idiotic, etc., which I find more inflammatory in a "discussion," personally). I’m not fighting the moderators or anything, just pointing that out.
Besides, I’m not the one
asking for other people to be suspended here. If I’m “protective” of DDuster, it’s because he’s my friend and people on here treat him like the resident punching bag and use outright insults that they wouldn’t to most other members (or to people they'd talk to in real life). I'm glad the mods are showing the message that it's not okay even if the member in question (or his opinion) is unpopular.

That's not a very nice thing to say...

To be fair, Disney's Divinity NEVER questioned the Duster suspension or said he should not have been. People were trying to figure out why Duster was suspended, and someone speculated it was probably a personal attack (which turned out not to be the reason). So Divinity simply said that he had rarely seen Duster attack anyone. Since he wasn't objecting to the suspension or challenging the mods or anything, IMO he isn't being hypocritical here at all. In this thread, he simply presented a different point of view than those who were complaining about the Goliath suspension.

I read perfectly fine. There you questioned the mods' good judgement in suspending him while here you asserted you have practically blind faith in their judgement.

You clearly can't. Because my post was directed towards littlefuzzy, and not the moderators.

That's irrelevant because the message you got across was the same. You obviously didn't believe that Duster deserved to be suspended. Don't try to hide behind technicalities.

It is not irrelevant because I was questioning littlefuzzy (not a moderator)'s assertion that DDuster had been suspended because of a personal attack. I still don't know why DDuster was suspended, but I know perfectly well why Goliath was--because it was "publicly" stated in the thread in question.

That wasn't "obviously" implied in my interpretation. He was replying to another member (littlefuzzy) that in his opinion, he didn't think the suspension was due to an attack (and he turned out to be right). But he clearly stated he was not complaining about the suspension itself.

I did think DDuster probably deserved suspension for continuing an off-topic discussion, but I didn't think he was the only one who should have.
If you don't like Goliath's suspension, Sotiris, go complain to the moderators. Arguing with me won't help your cause.
EDIT: His post's gone. Ah well.

I don't have a "cause". But you're right. Let's not continue this. And I'd like to apologize if I came off snarky or aggressive.

LOL at this thread. Is this really necessary? Also Duster was suspended for making a thread that mod said not to make. Had nothing to do with personal attack.
I like Goliath but what he said was a dick move as if he was attempting to provoke for a drama to happen.

That's his own fault. He suggests ridiculous and often unintentionally hilarious theories, lies, often blatantly ignores arguments opposed to his, is slightly rude (it's hardly noticed or disciplined because he is subtle in his insults) and acts like he's the victim all the time.

I personally believe that the person who issues the insult is at fault, unless the person they're discussing with has already started to throw insults, which hardly applies since Duster hadn't even posted in the "wishing" thread.
Not that I think Goliath should be
banned or anything, but, like I said, I thought the decision was fair.

I wasn't just referring to what happened in the wishing thread, I meant in general; Disney Duster often brings criticism upon himself.
