Yeah, I felt trembles from this at home (NC). The funny thing is, after it happened, the women on QVC that my mom was watching felt a tremble, too. I have to admit that was a little creepy for somebody who’s never experience any kind of earthquake, just a shake or not.

I live in Northeast Tennessee, and I didn't feel anything. Apparently, some people in my area did.

But, from what I gather, this earthquake didn't do any major damage or destruction. Just shook people up for a bit. :)

I was surprised to hear that the east coast hasn't had an earthquake of this size since the late 1800s.
While were on the subject Alaska had one just last week.

Well, it is weird. Let's not rule out gobal warming/climate change, let's at least consider it. I mean, we should be taking care of the planet either way, you know! ;)

I'm almost positive that earthquakes have nothing to do with global warming. Now that Hurricane Irene that's about to slam the East coast can be contributed. The great possibility of a category 1 or 2 Hurricane hitting DC AND New York City is certainly more terrifying to me than this 5.8 earthquake.

Also when that Earthquake happend in Japan earlier this year withe Tsunami...I heard that some of the tech tonic plates in the earth were shifted and the Earth was thrown off a little tiny bit of its axis.....

Also thank the lord there were no fatal injuries or any fatalities.....

There's also the whole thing about the poles shifting over the course of the next few years and gravitational influences of the planets aligning in 2012.
