Guardians of the Galaxy

Post by Sotiris »

Already rumored to be on Marvel's to do list by Kevin Feige, Twitch now report that just like Dr Strange, things are moving forward with the team of cosmic adventurers. We had heard reports that Marvel were going to start looking to some lesser known characters after the Avengers and eventually "go cosmic". Well it seems that may be happening sooner rather than later.

Twitch seem to have a good line on what's going down at Marvel having already reported on plans to move forward with Dr Strange. Now according to them: "Sources tell Twitch the film version is now in active development. Expect the on-screen Marvel universe to get a bit bigger soon."

The comic team have had two incarnations, the originals the '60s and then a relaunch in 2008. The new team featured characters such as Adam Warlock, Nova and Starhawk and they regularly battled the likes of The Skrulls and Thanos. If these villains are a part of The Avengers as is rumored, it would be a great way to tie the movies together. Kevin Feige already brought up the idea for a Guardians movie last year but nothing was ever official. If Dr Strange is indeed coming to us in 2013 along with Iron Man 3 and Ant-Man, could Guardians be part of Marvel's 2014 slate?

Look like marvel making a live action movie comic universe.

I dunno how they're going to make live action movies based on the cosmic universe work. Anyone who's familiar with Marvel or any comic industry storylines, knows that pulling off the cosmic storylines into a live action movie is super fucking harder than one one thinks. Especially using characters like Adam fucking Warlock.

Can we please watch the language? Besides, that word get used a a filler so much, what does it even mean anymore, seriously? Everything? People who use that word show a lack of creativity and understand of the English language.

Anyway, back on track, I think if any studio could pull of a film like this, it would be Marvel Studios! :D

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy

Post by Disneyphile »

While it’s been previously reported that Guardians Of The Galaxy was a property that Marvel Studios was interested in developing, many had been doubting the chances of the movie actually happening. After all, the Guardians Of The Galaxy aren’t one of Marvel’s best known creations among the general public, and it would appear on the surface to be an idea that would be expensive to bring to the big screen.

However, with Marvel Studios on the verge of delivering what looks to be their biggest smash to date with The Avengers, it will likely give them some leeway to try some different things. After the flop of John Carter, a successful Avengers could make Marvel Studios the new golden child of Disney.

That article is inaccurate. I'll wait for better news source.

Article got the evil alien race name wrong. It's called Badoon not Badoom.

Krovac was never in any Guardian of the Galaxy.

Nova was never part of the group ever in the series. Adding him in just for marketing is not surprising but it is dumb.

The Thanos Imperative is from an entirely different thing. Nothing to do with the Guardian of Galaxy.

EDIT wait this is based on the new 2008 one. Never mind. Thought it was the original 1969 one.

Yeah that one seems bit more accurate.

Pap64 posted that previous link on facebook where I found it from. Me and other big marvel fans found many inaccuracies, and thus were skeptical and find source false and unreliable

This sounds great! Hope it's true. So many great upcoming Marvel projects to be happy about these days. I hope they also make Black Panther, The Ant-Man, Doctor Strange and The Inhumans. Heck, I would watch whatever as long as Marvel is the maker^^
