One new feature of the new Disney Junior channel will be the introduction of the Disney Poetry Shorts. This series of short poems will introduce preschoolers to famous poems read by famous voices with extraordinary moments in Disney animation history as the backdrop. We were given a preview of the poem "Twinkle twinkle little star" and I simply love it!

Disney Shorts - the in-betweeners/intermissions between main programs. Some of the lined up shorts include:

Sam Sandwich - focus on good nutrition and proper eating;

Choo Choo Soul - same as before, but now features Disney songs;

A Poem Is... - poetry featuring voices of famous actors/artists and visuals from Disney classic movies.

Another programme I really liked is a series of shorts call ‘A Poem is…” It showcases children’s poems read by celebrities and set against classic Disney animation from films like Winnie the Pooh, Bambi and Dumbo. It was really nostalgic watching the clip that Ms Kanter showed.

Of all the things to come out of Disney Television, this by far is one of the best (if not the best) ideas they have come up with in the past decade.

It sounds pretty cool. I just wish it could have original animation instead of using other Disney movies...

The concept sounds good and I think it's a great way to introduce children to poems and rhymes - but the title is lame...

It's great that their using past "forgotten" features and shorts. I liked The Arrow and the Song and The Months best.

I think it's cute, and it's more the kind of thing I think should be part of kids' programming. My only nitpick is that Louis is an alligator, not a crocodile.

As soon as I saw these news headings, I knew Whoopi Goldberg would be involved. :P There are some other nice names there though, like Kenneth Branagh.
