I like the Ariel with the starfish more because she's the least creepy of the two. Though Ariel wearing a dead sea creature is morbid. :P The new Ariel looks ready to bite people.

I'd love to have one of em in my front steps during halloween, just to scare the little bratty kids away.

Apparently Ariel listened to Joan Rivers and had way too much Botox :P

It looks...creepy...and using the word creepy is probably a massive understatement :headshake:

They both look horrible, nothing like her really. It reminds me of a rip off you'd find somewhere :x

I don't particularly find them creepy, just a little bit tacky and fake (as though they're counterfeit Ariels). In fact, they look more like Jessica Rabbit! I would perhaps go for the second one, as she's a tiny bit truer to the movie Ariel.

Btw, this should really be in the parks forum.

Good call, Wondy! I must have misplaced my thinking cap.

I don't like either. Never was a Little Mermaid fan.

well, none of the figures in those windows look too much like their actual characters. Weren't they originally made to promote the film in the shop windows prior to it's release? Maybe they are more based on concept art of the film than actual final models.

Or we can just be VERY thankful that they made the dark ride now, instead of back then (although I'm not a huge fan of the ariel's from the ride either).

Oh, and to answer the question, I guess I'd have to say that I prefer to the newer one.

They both look horrifying .... And don't they rock back forth, looking like she's insane ??

But at a push ..... I'd have today the second one, with the flower. Doesn't the Ariel in the parks now have a flower in her hair instead of a starfish, hence the change ?

Either way, they are both awful. Are the others just as bad ?
