How long has Snow White been OOP?

Hi
I was just wondering how long Snow White has been OOP?
I thought that it had been OOP for quite a while and was really suprised when i found the collectors edition unopened in Virgin Megastore on Oxfordstreet (or Tottenham Court Road i can't really remember) when i was i was visiting London last week.

Good find. Was that the one with the groovy collector's packaging, or the 2-disc set?

Thanks for the information, it was the collectors editon that looks like a big book.

You are very lucky then! That is commanding high-ish prices on eBay.
I wis I had picked up a copy when I had the chance now...

I just found Snow White too, when I was in Bristol at the weekend, at the Virgin Megastore - it was the version with the book, a whacking 35 quid but worth it. There were three copies, but I only bought one. I've been obsessing about getting this for months, so to find it so easily was amazing! I think Virgin must sometimes get old stock caught up in their warehouses, because at Christmas i was in the same store and came across three copies of Beauty and the beast Collector's edition. So it's worth checking there.
It is an AMAZING set - Disc 2 has to be seen to be believed.
My collection's almost complete now! Only Dumbo to go...
one question, for anyone who might know - on the DVD box it says the film is widescreen, but mine was full frame (I know it's not a pirate copy). Is this right? Were there two different versions? The review on this site said the film was widescreen. Also, the silly symphony on disc 1 wasn't there - was it only released in the US version? Thanks.
Anyway, still an amazing find!

Snow White is 1.33:1 'fullscreen.' Beauty and the Beast is 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen. If it looks fullscreen to you, you have your DVD player set to think that you have a 16 x 9 widescreen TV, so it's distorting it and filling the screen. As far as I know, Beauty and the Beast wasn't released in fullscreen on DVD anywhere.

Thanks - so 1.33 is fullscreen, but next to it they say widescreen! Duh!
Still a great film though.
Maybe they're saving a widescreen version for the next release in 2008/ or 2011

Hope not. Snow White was animated and exhibited in the 1.37:1 Academy Ratio, so the Fullscreen presentation is right. For more on Aspect Ratios, read <a href="
