The article's way too saccharine and hyperbolic if you ask me. They made him look like he's Father Christmas.

For some reason I picture Lasseter trying to hug folks like Brenda Chapman and Chris Sanders just after he fired them. It might be my pessimistic side.

^would he have been directly responsible for firing them? I dont really get the politics of running a corp

He's Chief Creative Officer and Executive Producer on all the Disney and Pixar movies made since he became that.
