I plan to sell some DVDs in bulks and I'd like to know what would be the best value for the DVDs I will be selling on Craig's List.

These are the following movies I plan to sell in the bulk. They're all Disney/Family themed.


These have only been viewed a few times or were never opened:
Brother Bear - 2disc
Brother Bear 2
Donald in Mathmagic Land
Ducktales the Movie
The Secret of Nimh - 2disc
The Last Unicorn (unopened still sealed)

I am also throwing these other films in for practically free due to their lower condition:
Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron
Harry Potter and the SS -2disc
Harry Potter and the CoS -2disc
Harry Potter and the PoA -2disc
Mulan -2disc
Happy Feet (I ordered this from Amazon but it came in Quebec packaging, DVD does play on standard DVD players)

In the future I might plan on selling my Platinum Editions: Lady and the Tramp, Peter Pan, Cinderella, 101 Dalmations, The Little Mermaid...depending on how their Diamond Editions turn out to be.

I know nothing about determining the value of things when selling them and getting the best bang for my buck. I figure you guys are better at this. Any help is appreciated. Thanx

I would think you're probably better off using Amazon Marketplace. Less effort required and more of a support system in place. Easier to determine prices that way. Plus, it's free, aside from the commission they take. (Presumably, you'd be losing a comparable percentage to PayPal via Craigslist.)

You also end up selling this on craigslsit like DVD's for way less then what you'd sell them for on Amazon or even e-bay. (Although, I like Amazon Marketplace better.) I've tried selling used DVD's on craig's list before. They never sell for much. Amazon is better.

But how do you know what price to sell it in the condition it's in?? I had a tendency to screw myself over and sell my items for less than what they're really worth. I'm not good at determining value. And about half of these DVDs if I sell them individually will only have a dollar's value as far as I'm concerned. I would get very little back after commission and shipping (gotta buy the envelopes and mail the thing myself).

Since you don't list where you live in your profile, I will ask if there is a Used DVD store in your area. Not GameStop or MovieStop or whatever they are calling it now, but an independent Used DVD store that also sells Blu-rays, Games, CD, etc? You can a better idea what to charge by just looking through their shelves or you could also go to:

and cruise through their catalogue and see what they are selling the titles you have for. Also remember, no one wants to buy a sealed copy of anything. As a collector and curator of a Midwest Swap meet that travels to several states during the summer, we encourage people not to try to sell or trade sealed items. The buyer wants to see what is inside the case before he plunks down his money.

You can also go to the library and look into the Collector's Guide For DVD and CD Collector's. They will tell you both high and low prices for your titles and you can make your own decision as to what to charge.
