The only person I have heard of is Paula Abdul. Hope this show makes it, after the stunning first two weeks of "The Voice" and the amazing Season 10 of American Idol.

I have no doubts that Simon Cowell will make sure this show doesn't flop, but we will see what happens when it debuts this fall. I'll be watching.

I welcome Cheryl Cole to the U.S. with open arms! :float:

I just love her, I really hope American audiences love her as much as I do so we can have more of her here. I don't like singing competitions anymore, but I will watch for Cheryl. I also really like Nicole Scherzinger, I hope she's a good host.

Nicole Scherzinger was a bust last night on "American Idol". In my opinion, she can't dance, sing, or even look pretty, like a woman should. If this is what the youth of today call music, then we are in for a lot of garbage on the music charts.

I, personally, found her performance verging on disgusting. She is definitely not someone I want my teenage grand daughter to look on as a 'role model'.

That’s good, because she has never set herself up to be a “role model.” And a woman’s job has never been to be pretty, except in some losers’ 50’s fantasies.

Anyway, I’m glad Scherzinger is just a host, because I’ve honestly never liked her. It’s too bad Corbin Bleu couldn’t have got the co-host role though.

Glad to see Paula's going to be on this show. Not sure if I'll like Cole or not, but she can't possibly be as bad as Kara DioGuardi.

Actually looking forward to this show now. I don't know who the other judges are, and the hosts are "meh" to me. Still the show looks very promising. Idol is running out of steam (in my opinion), and its nice to have some fresh shows like this and The Voice on.

I agree with you Idol is not that excited anymore it's a good show but not anything to get crazy about. The Voice is something fresh and to get excited about. X-Factor looks great, excited, and something new like The Voice.

American Idol is doing fine and just because these shows (X Factor, The Voice, Sing-off, America's Got Talent) are here doesn't mean that American Idol has lost any of its appeal.

Each of these shows has something different to offer, and I am looking forward to each of them with the same anticipation that I have for American Idol.

With over 95 million votes cast last week for the Final Three, I would say that American Idol is as healthy as it has been in the past. Am looking forward to more great seasons.

Apparently, Cheryl Cole’s out and Nicole Scherzinger is replacing her as judge. Can’t say I’m bothered if Cole’s gone, but Scherzinger sucks. Get Mariah or something. Even Jessica Simpson would be better.

Plus, if this article’s to be believed, Scherzinger’s also the reason Bleu lost the hosting job. She’s such a self-seeking loser.

It was doomed to fail. No one can understand the poor girl and she's too simple to just speak proper English. Which is strange because her singing is very understandable.

Sherzinger isn't gonna draw in the crowds. She's a terrible singer herself anyway. She just screams and whispers like some sex kitten. Yuck.

I think Idol is loosing some appeal. Votes are up, but weekly viewers are down this year. Although it still draws huge weekly ratings, so its in no danger... now. If the other shows (X Factor, The Voice, etc...) take off, and viewers continue to drop we could see the decline in Idol's popularity.

I personally liked the judges this season, but I've heard/read a lot of negative comments on the panel and how they were "too nice". A lot of people want Simon back, and I think its one of the draws for X Factor.

I honestly don’t think Idol’s going anywhere. Even with the success of other shows, Idol has nostalgia on its side. It also has past successes to refer to. Plus, none of the other shows will be competing with its time slot. It has lost steam though, because of preteens controlling the vote.

Simon was smart to get Paula, because it’ll add that same nostalgia factor that’ll probably draw in a lot of Idol viewers.

The one thing I like better about X Factor is the fact that the judges are hands-on--they don’t just give criticism, but also help to create the acts. The Voice kind of ripped a little off that format, but the judges of X Factor are even more involved than on The Voice (which is basically American Idol after the battle rounds).

Idol is still a strong show, and its going to last awhile. I've said it for awhile, but they need to change the voting system. There needs to be a limit per phone/text/etc..., or something.

There are limits. 10 votes per system used. I know that for a fact because I tried it this year, and tried to abuse it and after 10 votes you are disconnected.

I hope that Jennifer Lopez comes back next season. One year is a long time to be committed to a show, and I know that Steven Tyler had so much fun he has said already that he is on board for another season.

The competition of "X Factor", "The Voice", "Sing-Off", "America's Got Talent" and all good for American Idol. They are in for the long run, and Simon Cowell also owns it, along with "X Factor", so I don't think it is going anywhere as long as it is making money.

If there are limits how are people getting around them and abusing it? I see posts all the time during Idol about voting 200 times, etc... for someone. It has to be higher than 10 based on how many votes were in the final.

I really enjoyed Steven Tyler on the show. Jennifer Lopez wasn't bad either. I hope they keep the same judges. I don't like it when they constantly change people around each year.

Anyway I think the Simon/Paula team does add some nostalgia to X Factor. It will help bring in some Idol viewers. I'm very interested in seeing how the show works out.

Still thinking if I'm going to watch "The X-Factor".
