QUESTION (NEW) PLEASE READ

THE NEW QUESTION IS AT THE VERY END OF THE 2ND PAGE

Luke,

I was wondering if we can just review our DVDs and send them to you, or if there is a specific way of writing them? Also, do we need to get screen caps or will you get them some other way?
I would really like to do these reviews:
The Rescuers
The Parent Trap (original)
Swiss Family Robinson
Pollyanna
Old Yeller - maybe
Return From Witch Mountain
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
The Other Side of Heaven
The Emperor's New Groove (both standard and collectors)
Sleeping Beauty
The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again
The Moonspinners

Thanks in advance!

Hook

The Rescuers
Ooh! Someone volunteered to The Rescuers DVD review? How sweet! I don't think Luke will mind. There is normally kind of a specific way to write these reviews, take a look at all the other ones to give you an idea:

Well, yeah, I know that, but I was wondering if we just write it up and send the pictures, or if we actually make the page... or what. Yes, I have the Rescuers. I was going to wait, but then I couldn't help myself, it's a great movie.

I think you just send your review, and Luke himself puts it into a page and adds his pictures.

In general, I do all the screencaps and formatting myself, but if you'd like to write a review, what I'd encourage you to do is put one together, the same way that the other reviews are done - Movie, Video and Audio, Bonus Features, Closing Thoughts. I can't guarantee that it will go up, but as long as the review is accurate and displays good writing, I can put it up and perhaps I'll ask you to do more.

I've just finished the original Parent Trap review (in just under 18 months!), and I already have Swiss Family Robinson about half-done, and I think I might do the other three 2-disc Vault/SEs myself. I also had planned on doing The Moon-Spinners soon. Anything else off that list is really okay, although I wouldn't be able to make screencaps of stuff I don't own, like The Other Side of Heaven.

Ideally, the more reviews on the site, the better, and I know very well that my writing is not particularly good, especially when it's all over the place.

But if you want to send in a review, clear the title with me first. I can't guarantee I'll put it up on the site, so try your best, but don't get your hopes too high.

The only formatting I'd ask when submitting a review is:

Code: Select all

Title movie titles go in italics

at the start of every new paragraph
Thanks for your interest!

Okay, thanks a bunch for the info. I'll see what I can do, especially The Rescuers. I'm guesssing these ones are okay?

The Rescuers
Return From Witch Mountain
The Other Side of Heaven
The Emperor's New Groove (both standard and collectors)
Sleeping Beauty
The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again

I'll make sure that I tell you in advance if I do some. Also, would you like me to e-mail or post on the forum?

E-mail, please. Those will be fine, but for Other Side and Rides Again, I can't do screencaps.

I would really like to do The Rescuers first - and I'd like to do Other Side of Heaven but I wouldn't be able to get screencaps for a week or two. Are those two okay to start with?

Rescuers is fine. Just start with one and we'll see how it turns out, okay?

Thanks. E-mail henceforth. :)

Yeah, The Rescuers deserves so much better than that ugly, twice used cover, DVD it got.

Not only that, but just look at the extras! Arg, I complained that we really needed a making of documentary instead of that retarded scrapbook. I liked the scrapbook, but it shouldn't be the only behind the scenes stuff. Oh well. Also, the silly symphony and true life adventure had NOTHING to do with it!
Edit: Forgot the worst thing though - Under the Hat Villains. Worthless!

One of the features that I hated completely was that dull game, I mean, it looks like it took 5 minutes to make, it is absolutely dull. The scrapbook was okay, but I really wanted to see documentaries and theatrical and video release trailers.

What a waste of a good "First time ever on Disney DVD!"
