My grandpa died.

I just learned that my grandpa just died this morning.

He was 84 and had cancer. His passing is beautiful.
This morning, my dad was called by the nursing home/hospital that he's not doing good. My mom told me that when Dad got there, my grandpa told him, "Number 7" Dad says, "For what?" My grandpa replied, "To be with God". When my dad, my aunt, my uncle, and my grandma gathered around Grandaddy around 5, he lifted his hand and said, "I'm going to be with my dad" He then said his dad's full name and died.
Not bad life with seeing his great grand-kids and everything. Keep my family in my prayers. RIP Grandaddy. I love you
EDIT: I screwed up what my grandpa said. Sorry about that.

That is a beautiful story. I'm so sad for your loss; it hasn't been that long since I lost my own grandfather. Will be keeping you in my thoughts.

I am sorry for your loss, your grandpa and family are in my prayers. It is good to hear he died with loving people around him. Last October I lost my grandma. Then the next months, a few of my friends lost their grandparents also. This helps me and maybe it will help you too: I think how my grandma is there with my grandpa and my friends' grandparents now. That they're all in heaven bragging about their grandkids to each other.

Eternal rest grant unto him Oh Lord. May Your perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all souls of the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.

Sorry for your loss, dear disneyprincess11! I know how you feel, I lost my grandfather "Pop-Pop" 7 years ago, and I lost my grandmother 2 years ago. My great-grandmother 7 years ago. A loved one is never truly gone, once memories last. Believe me, I had great memories of those people. I hope you do too!

I'm sorry for your loss, but glad that he went so peacefully. I prayed for him, you, and your family. By "number 7" did he mean that their were 7 things he wanted to do?

Isn't the number seven considered to be the 'Holy number' that represents god in christianity?

Thanks everyone! The funeral was last week, so everyone survived!
No, when he says #7, he meant like, the "Now serving #7" thing in grocery stores and shops I think.

I'm doing much better, thank you so much! it'll just be a long time to get used to.
but what im really mad about is how he died a few weeks right BEFORE my school play, and I got one of my biggest roles in my life. its not the biggest, but still good. It's "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown", and I'm...
Not to mention, hes missing out my oldest sister's high school graduation.

In fact, he joked that he would die the day after her graduation or the play, depending on the conversation

Well how do you know that he didn't see your play ?
I'm sure your grandfather is proud of you both.
